A control apparatus for controlling an image capture apparatus is disclosed The apparatus (i) if the target focus distance is longer than a first distance that is a distance between the image capture apparatus and a display apparatus provided in a captured area of the image capture apparatus, controls a focus distance of the image capture apparatus such that the image capture apparatus is in-focus at a second distance determined based on the first distance, and (ii) if the target focus distance is shorter than or equal to the first distance, controls the focus distance of the image capture apparatus such that the image capture apparatus is in-focus at the target focus distance.

An imaging device comprises pixels. The pixel includes first semiconductor regions of a first conductivity type provided in a surface part of a semiconductor substrate and a second semiconductor region of a second conductivity type provided in the surface part of the semiconductor substrate between the first semiconductor regions. The pixel includes: a light-receiving unit in which photodiodes each configured between the second semiconductor region and one of the first semiconductor regions; quenching circuits, each connected to a corresponding one of the first semiconductor regions; and a counter unit connected to each of connection nodes between the first semiconductor regions and the quenching circuits and counts a pulse generated in response to a photon being incident on the light-receiving unit. A method of producing a mold having an uneven structure and a mold for an optical element are provided. The method includes forming on a nickel substrate a mixed film using nickel and a material which phase separates from nickel simultaneously, the mixed film including a plurality of cylinders including nickel as a component thereof and a matrix region including the material which phase separates from nickel as a component thereof and surrounding the plurality of cylinders; and removing the matrix portion from the mixed film by etching to give a mold including nickel or a nickel alloy. The uneven structure is disposed in plurality on the substrate, and a pitch of the uneven structure is within a range of 30 nm or more and 500 nm or less and a depth of the uneven structure is within a range of 100 nm or more.

An image having no secrecy is printed on a non-secret information display area of an original paper, whereas an image having secrecy, which should be originally printed, is not printed on a secret image display area. An UI section accepts operation of a user. When a printing paper to which an IC chip storing secret information is attached is discarded, a shredder applied voltage to the IC chip by a discharging unit to destroy the IC chip and to make it impossible to read the secret information therefrom. Thereafter, a shredding cutter shreds the printing paper and the shred printing paper is discarded.
