A colored, transparent film-forming composition, which is made up of (a) a reaction product of an epoxy group-containing alkoxysilane (a-1) and an amino group-containing alkoxysilane (a-2) having active hydrogen therein, (b) an acid catalyst, (c) an alkali-soluble UV absorber, (d) at least one solvent selected from organic solvents having a boiling point of 100 to 250&deg; C., and (e) a dye and/or a pigment, has a good coating performance and room temperature curing characteristic and can provide a film having good film strength and film removability after use. A superplastic hot working method for a duplex-phase, nitrogen-containing ferrous alloy and stainless steel, and a superplastic duplex-phase ferrous alloy are disclosed. Hot working method for producing a superplastic ferrous duplex-phase

A method and apparatus of processing a continuously cast slab to prevent the formation of surface cracks by applying plastic strains to the surface layer of the slab in which a process of solidification is taking place. The method comprises pressing a projection against the slab surface under specified conditions prior to introducing the slab to a leveling stage.

Apparatus of processing continuously cast slabs

A duplex .alpha. (ferrite) and .gamma. (austenite) phase stainless steel exhibiting superplasticity at high strain rate is disclosed. The steel comprises Fe, Cr, and Ni as primary elements, and N in an amount of 0.05-0.25%, preferably 0.1-0.2% by weight. The amount of Cr+Mo+1.5xSi is preferred to be substantially three times as much as that of Ni+0.5.times.Mn+30.times.C+25.times.N. The disclosed steel shows good superplasticity in the temperature range of from 700.degree. C. to the point 100.degree. C. lower than the temperature at which the steel transforms into a single ferrite phase and at a strain rate of at least 1.times.10.sup.-6 s.sup.-1 and less than 1.times.10.sup.0 s.sup.-1, and can be elongated by more than 1000% at 900.degree. C. and at a strain rate of 1.5.times.10.sup.-2 s.sup.-1.
