A driving behavior evaluation device, includes: a memory; and a processor coupled to the memory, the processor being configured to: acquire onboard sensor information that is detected by a sensor installed in a vehicle and that includes a depression amount of an accelerator pedal, acquire map information including information regarding an intersection, and in a case in which an event has been detected, render a lower driving evaluation than in a case in which the event is not detected, the event being an event in which the depression amount of the accelerator pedal increases or decreases at least once within a predetermined time after the vehicle has arrived at a temporary stop position, or has temporarily stopped, at the intersection.

A reservoir device is provided, which prevents water from flooding in an accumulation tank and improves on-vehicle installation capability. The reservoir deviceincludes a catch tankconnected to an airspace 'A' formed above an oil surface of working oil accumulated in an accumulation tank, which has a bottom surface formed with an external-air communication aperture. Liquid entering from the external-air communication apertureis allowed, to be accumulated in the catch tankonce, and then is suitably discharged through the external-air communication aperture. This precludes the accumulation tankfrom flooding with water and improves on-vehicle installation capability. The reservoir devicecan be obtained, in which the accumulation tankis prevented from flooding with water, even if the reservoir tankis placed in a place or the like relatively closer to for instance a road surface with an ease of suffering water splashing during a traveling in a rainy weather or a traveling on a submerged road surface or the like.

An actuator includes a motor, an input rotation member driven by the motor, an input contacting portion formed on the input rotation member, a bush disposed so as to be relatively rotatable to the input rotation member, a first contacting portion and an engaging portion formed on the bush, a spiral spring including an outer circumferential hook portion in contact with the input contacting portion of the input rotation member, and an inner circumferential hook portion engageable with the engaging portion of the bush, the spiral spring storing a rotational force of the input rotation member as an potential energy via the input contacting portion, an output member disposed so as to be relatively rotatable to the input rotation member, an output contacting portion formed on the output member and in contact with the outer circumferential hook portion of the spiral spring; the output contacting portion transmitting the potential energy stored in the spiral spring to the output member; wherein the bush includes a second contacting portion positioned at a predetermined angle with the first contacting portion in a rotational direction of the bush and, the second contacting portion formed so as to contact with the input rotation member and the output member during the rotation of the bush relative to the input rotation member and the output member.

Actuator employing a standby mechanism

A differential device for 4WD vehicles having a reduced size and capable of being produced at lower costs makes it possible to select between a 2WD state, a differential-free 4WD state, and a differential-locked 4WD state. The differential device includes a differential case, a side gear, a hub, and a switching mechanism which establishes and interrupts a connection between each of the differential case, the side gear, and the hub. The switching mechanism includes, among other possible features, a first sleeve, a second sleeve which is separate from the first sleeve, and a pin. A sole actuator moves the second sleeve between first, second and third positions to establish the 2WD state, the differential-free 4WD state, and the differential-locked 4WD state.

Differential device for 4WD-vehicles

An apparatus for detecting contact between a contact detection member and a rotating body such as a grinding wheel rotably carried on a wheel head which is movable toward the contact detection member in a grinding machine for example. The apparatus comprises an AE sensor, a rectangular pulse generator, a sampling circuit and a processing device such as a microcomputer. The AE sensor generates an electric signal in response to vibration of the contact detection member. The rectangular pulse generator outputs a rectangular pulse whose duration corresponds to that of vibration. The sampling circuit delivers to the processing device an output indicating the duration of the rectangular pulse. The processing device processes the output delivered thereto so as to decide the occurrence of an actual contact between the rotating body and the contact detection member.

A hydraulic valve lifter having function to stop valve drive comprises a cylinder, a lifter body sliding in the cylinder, a cam driving the lifter body, a tappet sliding in the lifter body, a valve driven by the tappet, a plunger located between the lifter body and the tappet, a reservoir formed in the lifter body and being in fluid communication with a hydraulic source always, a first pressure room formed in the tappet and separated from the reservoir via the plunger, a check valve controlling a communication between the reservoir and the first pressure room, a piston sliding in the lifter body and having a rod driving the check valve, a second pressure room located at one side of the piston and being in fluid communication with the hydraulic source via a control valve, a room located at the other side of the piston, and a passage decreasing a pressure in the room.

Hydraulic valve lifter having function to stop valve drive

A throttle control apparatus for use with an automotive internal combustion engine. The apparatus assures that the drive wheels are stopped from spinning on a snowy road surface if the driver pushes down on the accelerator pedal. The apparatus comprises an accelerator operation mechanism including the accelerator pedal, a first throttle-driving means capable of opening and closing the throttle valve, a controller, a second driving means, and a fuel-cutting means. The first throttle-driving means is mounted independent of the accelerator operation mechanism and includes a driving plate, a clutch plate, and a movable yoke. The controller controls the first throttle-driving means to adjust the throttle opening. When the first throttle-driving means becomes inoperative, the throttle valve can be driven by the accelerator operation mechanism via the second throttle-driving means. The fuel-cutting means is operated when excessive spin of the drive wheels is detected.

The main body could also be made of refractory synthetic resin having a longitudinal elastic coefficient of 5-150 kg/mm.sup.2. Each shaft can be of substantially the same diameter along its entire length.
