A gas turbine comprises a compressor for compressing a gas supplied therein and discharging the compressed gas, a combustor in which the discharged gas from the compressor and a fuel are combusted, a turbine to be driven by a combustion gas from the combustor, and a water injection unit which injects water into the gas to be supplied to the compressor, thereby lowering the temperature of the gas to be introduced into the compressor to a temperature lower than the atmospheric temperature, and causing water droplets having been injected in the gas and within the compressor to be vaporized while flowing down therein, wherein the quantity of water spray injection is controlled while monitoring operational conditions of the gas turbine.

A compressor has inlet guide vanes, rotor blades and stator blades. To prevent rotating stall, baffle vanes 5 capable of having their angles varied are installed upstream of the inlet guide vanes, actuators to vary the angles of baffle vanes are coupled to the baffle vanes, sensors installed upstream of the baffle vanes detect a rotating stall condition inside the flow passage of the compressor, and a control unit is responsive to signals from the sensors to output control signals to the actuators to vary the angles of the baffle vanes so as to prevent the rotating stall condition. Instead of the baffle vanes, fluid jets may be provided upstream of the inlet guide vanes for the same purposes.

An axial flow compressor for use in a gas turbine or other industrial application having an improved efficiency is provided through modification of the blade shape and profile of the blades subject to a subsonic high velocity inlet flow so as to avoid shock losses in the blade rows, and improve the total efficiency. The curvature distribution on the suction surface of the stator blade rows or rotor blade rows of the axial flow compressor is adapted to have a local minimum in a region toward the leading edge of the blade, and then a local maximum. Thereby, an excessive increment in velocity on the suction surface from the leading edge to the position of the maximum velocity can be suppressed, and the occurrence of a shock wave can be avoided so as to minimize pressure loss in the blade rows, thus increasing the total efficiency of the axial compressor.

A method for manufacturing a rotary anode for use in an X-ray tube is proposed. The method has the step of forming, on a graphite substrate plate, an intermediate layer of rhenium by subjecting a metallic chloride to the thermal decomposition CVD process at a substrate temperature of 1200.degree. C. or more. The method further has the step of forming, on the intermediate layer, an X-ray generating layer of tungsten or tungsten-rhenium alloy by subjecting a metallic fluoride to the hydrogen reduction thermal CVD process.

Method for manufacturing a rotary anode for X-ray tube

A rotary anode for use in an X-ray tube has a graphite substrate plate, an intermediate layer made of a metal that does not react with graphite, and an X-ray generating layer provided on the intermediate layer for generating X-rays when electron impact is applied. The intermediate layer is a rhenium film having an equiaxed grain structure. A method for manufacturing such a rotary anode is proposed. The method has the step of forming, on a graphite substrate plate, an intermediate layer of rhenium by subjecting a metallic chloride to the thermal decomposition CVD process at a substrate temperature of 1200.degree. C. or more. The method further has the step of forming, on the intermediate layer, an X-ray generating layer of tungsten or tungsten-rhenium alloy by subjecting a metallic fluoride to the hydrogen reduction thermal CVD process.

Rotary anode for X-ray tube and method for manufacturing the same

A readout circuit in magnetic recording device is disclosed, in which a test data signal for detecting an error in the characteristics of an automatic equalizer is recorded in a predetermined position of each track of a magnetic recording medium. In readout mode, a test data signal for a selected track is read out first, and this signal is compared with a reference signal dependent on the system conditions to determine an error from the reference signal. The optimum equalization coefficient is determined to eliminate this error from the reference signal and set in the equalizer. The data is readout under the optimum equalization characteristics thus set.
