A method for controlling the combustion of burners in a batch-type combustion furnace, includes the steps of electrically linking a where the fuel gas control valves are electrically linking to corresponding air control valves for each of the burners in a batch-type combustion furnace. The method includes the steps of preliminarily calibrating the air-fuel ratio adjusted with zero and span adjustments between the fuel gas control valve and the corresponding air control valve so as to give a theoretical air-fuel ratio when same electric signals are given to the fuel gas control valve and the air control valve. The next step is inputting an electric signal from a temperature controller to the fuel gas control valve, then adding an electric signal for adjusting an excess air volume to a same electrical signal as that for the fuel gas control valve, and finally inputting the resulting electric signal obtained by the above addition to the air control valve, wherein the combustion of each of the burners is controlled.

Method for controlling combustion of a burner in a batch-type combustion furnace

A method for controlling kiln pressure for a shuttle kiln having an exhaust gas fan and an exhaust gas damper in an exhaust gas passage includes the steps of performing a control operation for controlling the number of revolution of the exhaust gas fan to control flow rate of the exhaust gas to maintain the kiln pressure at a predetermined pressure, and performing a control operation for adjusting opening of the exhaust gas damper based on the number of revolution of the exhaust gas fan. The method can expand the control range of exhaust gas flow, and operation with energy saving efficiency can be performed.

Method for controlling kiln pressure

A method of firing ceramic honeycomb structural bodies, in which cordierite raw materials including at least raw kaolin is extruded to obtain a honeycomb structural formed body and the thus obtained honeycomb structural formed body is fired. The method includes the step of firing a honeycomb structural body having a rib thickness of not more than 4.6 mil under such a condition that a temperature ascending rate during 400-600.degree. C. is maintained under 70.degree. C./hr. As a preferred embodiment, a temperature ascending rate during 400-600.degree. C. is defined as under 70.degree. C./hr in the case of manufacturing a honeycomb structural body having a rib thickness of 4.6-4.0 mil, or, a temperature ascending rate during 400-600.degree. C. is defined as under 40.degree. C./hr in the case of manufacturing a honeycomb structural body having a rib thickness of 3.9-2.0 mil.

Method of firing ceramic honeycomb structural bodies

A method of firing a ceramic formed body, in which the ceramic formed body is fired by controlling a firing output state in such a manner that a high output state and a low output state are repeated reciprocally, is disclosed. In the method of firing a ceramic formed body, the improvement controls an opening angle of a burner defining the high output state, while a pulse output defining a reciprocal interval between the high output state and the low output state is maintained at constant.

Method of firing ceramic fomred body

In a method of firing ceramic formed bodies including a binder by using a firing furnace having one or more burners in which a firing output changes alternately between a high output state and a low output state, an air ratio of the burner is maintained at a level of more than 3 in a temperature range from a temperature at which the binder begins to burn out to a temperature at which an ignition loss reaction ends. Further, a firing apparatus has a control means for controlling the burners according to the firing method mentioned above.
