Provided is a heat-conductive sealing member which has high moisture barrier properties, has heat dissipation properties, and is capable of encapsulating an element by a simple method. The heat-conductive sealing member has a metal base material, an insulating layer that is formed on the metal base material, has heat conductivity and contains at least polyimide, and a tacky adhesive layer that is formed on the insulating layer and has heat resistance.

Organic electroluminescence element

The present invention provides an EL device that contains a quantum-dots-containing layer in which quantum dots hardly coagulate even under high-temperature conditions, e.g., at a temperature of 90&#xb0; C. or more, that has a good performance even if heat treatment was carried at a high temperature in its production process, that can retain its emission characteristics for a prolonged period of time, and that has high durability. An electroluminescent device comprises a pair of electrodes, and an electroluminescent layer containing at least a luminescent layer, situated between the electrodes. The luminescent layer contains quantum dots whose surfaces are protected by one or more protective materials. At least one of the protective materials has a glass transition temperature and a melting point of 90&#xb0; C. or more.

Electroluminescent device

Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent element having an element structure that can reduce damage to an organic layer during electrode formation and can facilitate the injection of charges from the electrode into the organic layer. The organic electroluminescent element includes an anode, a cathode, and an organic layer held between the anode and the cathode. The organic layer contains a luminescent material. The organic electroluminescent element further includes a transparent protective layer provided between the anode or the cathode and the organic layer. The transparent protective layer contains a bipolar charge transport organic compound and an electron-accepting compound. The transparent protective layer is formed in a period between after the formation of the organic layer and before the formation of the anode or the cathode on the organic layer.

Organic electroluminescent element, method for manufacturing the organic electroluminescent element, and light emitting display device

An electroluminescent device comprising a pair of electrodes, and an electroluminescent layer containing at least a luminescent layer, situated between the electrodes. The luminescent layer has a matrix material containing at least one organic compound, and quantum dots whose surfaces are protected by a protective material and that are dispersed in the matrix material. The protective material contains a first protective material. The absolute value of the ionization potential Ip(h), the absolute value of the electron affinity Ea(h), and the band gap Eg(h) of the first protective material, the absolute value of the ionization potential Ip(m), the absolute value of the electron affinity Ea(m), and the band gap Eg(m) of the organic compound, and the band gap Eg(q) of the quantum dots fulfill all of the conditions (A) to (C): (A) Ip(h)&#x3c;Ip(m)+0.1 eV, (B) Ea(h)&#x3e;Ea(m)&#x2212;0.1 eV, and (C) Eg(q)&#x3c;Eg(h)&#x3c;Eg(m).

Organic electroluminescence element and production method thereof

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing an electroluminescence element that has a light emitting layer containing a quantum dot and exhibits excellent life characteristics. In the method, patterning of the light emitting layer can be stably performed by a lift-off method. A photoresist layer is formed on a substrate having a first electrode layer. The photoresist layer is then exposed, developed, and patterned to ensure that a portion of the photoresist layer, which is located in a light emission area, is removed. A coating liquid containing a quantum dot having a silane coupling agent attached to the surface thereof is coated on the resultant substrate having the patterned photoresist layer and cured to form a light emitting layer. The remaining photoresist layer is then removed to lift off a portion of the light emitting layer, which is present on the photoresist layer.

Method for manufacturing electroluminescence element

A main object of the present invention is to provide an organic EL element having members such as an organic EL layer formed highly precisely in a pattern with preferable light emission characteristic of the organic EL layer, and a photocatalyst containing coating solution to be used for the production thereof. To achieve the object, the present invention provides an organic electroluminescent element comprising: a substrate; a first electrode layer formed on the substrate; an organic electroluminescent layer formed on the first electrode layer; and a second electrode layer formed on the organic electroluminescent layer, wherein a photocatalyst containing layer containing a photocatalyst, a characteristic providing agent, and a light emission characteristic improving material having the function of improving the activation of the photocatalyst and the light emission characteristic of the organic electroluminescent layer so as to have the characteristic of the characteristic providing agent changed by the action of the photocatalyst accompanied by the energy irradiation is formed at any position between the substrate and the second electrode layer; and the light emission characteristic improving material is a silver salt of a fluorine or an acid selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, sulfinic acids, phenols, enols, thiophenols, imides, oximes, primary or secondary nitro compounds, clathrate compounds, a chloric acid and a perchloric acid.
