A passive-matrix display of the disclosure includes a first electrode disposed over a substrate, a second electrode disposed over the first electrode and three-dimensionally intersecting the first electrode, a first auxiliary electrode disposed between the substrate and the first electrode, three-dimensionally intersecting the first electrode and being parallel to the second electrode, and a second auxiliary electrode parallel to the first auxiliary electrode and to the second electrode, the first electrode and the first auxiliary electrode being electrically connected by a first connection portion, and the second electrode and the second auxiliary electrode being connected by a plurality of second connection portions each disposed with at least one of the first electrodes therebetween. The passive-matrix display enables voltage drop and variation in brightness to be reduced by lowering the wiring resistance of the second electrode.

A flexible display device includes a wire embedded layer that has flexibility and has a first principal surface, a thick wire embedded in the wire embedded layer so as to be substantially flush with the first principal surface of the wire embedded layer, an extraction lower electrode electrically connected to the thick wire and disposed on the first principal surface of the wire embedded layer, an emitting layer disposed on the extraction lower electrode, and an upper electrode disposed on the emitting layer. The total number of the scan electrodes is divided into a first scan electrode group and a second scan electrode group. The first scan electrode group drive section for driving the first scan electrode group produces a selection potential and a non-selection potential in the scan period, and supplies scan pulses based on the two potentials in the first half of the scan period. The complex switch section supplies the selection potential produced using the first scan electrode group drive section to the second scan electrode group drive section for driving the second scan electrode group in the latter half of the scan period. The second scan electrode group drive section supplies scan pulses based on the input selection potential.

A drive circuit for driving a plasma display panel (PDP) includes a pulse voltage generator that contains main switching elements disposed on a high voltage side and on a low voltage side, is operable to generate a pulse voltage by operating the main switching elements in accordance with an output voltage from a first power supply and apply the pulse voltage to a PDP scan electrode and sustain electrode, and a reset voltage generator operable to generate a reset voltage in accordance with an output voltage from a second power supply and apply it to the PDP. The pulse voltage generator contains a first diode that prevents the voltage output by the reset voltage generator from being applied backward to the first power supply and a first switching element connected to the first diode in parallel.

Plasma display panel drive circuit and plasma display apparatus

A PDP driving circuit is comprised of a power recovery unit for recovering an electric power from a capacitive load by resonance operation with PDP which is the capacitive load Cp, and reusing the recovered power. The power recovery unit includes a recovery inductor for resonating with the capacitive load, a recovery switch element for connecting the recovery capacitor to the capacitive load and recovery inductor, and forming a channel for passing resonance current, a counterflow preventive diode for blocking flow of current in the recovery switch element in reverse polarity direction, and a protective diode for forming a closed current channel including the recovery inductor and recovery switch element when the counterflow preventive diode is changed from ON state to OFF state.

A reset pulse generating section applies the total of voltages of a positive voltage source and two constant-voltage sources from a high side ramp wave generating section to a high side scan switching device as the upper limit of a reset voltage pulse, and applies the ground potential from a low side ramp wave generating section to a low side scan switching device as the lower limit of the reset voltage pulse. A sustaining pulse generating section applies the upper and lower limits of a sustaining voltage pulse through a common sustaining pulse transmission path to the low side scan switching device.

The present invention provides a motor controller capable of driving a synchronous motor having no position sensor stably at high efficiency by carrying out simple control. In order to attain this purpose, a reactive current is obtained from a motor current and a rotation phase, an error voltage is obtained from the reactive current and the command value of the reactive current, thereby obtaining a motor applied voltage command value Va that is used to compensate for the V/f characteristic of the motor. Furthermore, the motor applied voltage command value Va is applied to an output command computing section, and computed with the rotation phase signal of a wave generation section, thereby obtaining a signal for PWM driving the switching devices of an inverter circuit.
