There is provided a transportation apparatus in which a first transportation unit, which transports a paper sheet from a mounting portion, starts transportation of a next paper sheet at a time when a specific time has elapsed after the second transportation unit, which is positioned on a downstream side of the first transportation unit, starts to transport a paper sheet so that an inter-sheet distance between a preceding paper sheet and a following paper sheet becomes optimal.

Transportation apparatus

An image reading apparatus includes a reading portion that reads an image on a target object; a motor that cause the reading portion to move; and a control portion that controls the reading portion and the motor. Further, in a case where the motor does not enter a step-out state, the control portion executes a first reading operation that causes the reading portion to read the image simultaneously with causing the motor to cause the reading portion to move at a high speed, and in a case where the motor enters the step-out state, the control portion executes a second reading operation that causes the reading portion to read the image simultaneously with causing the motor to cause the reading portion to move at a low speed, and generates image data having a resolution lower than a high resolution corresponding to the low speed.

Image reading apparatus having multiple reading operations

For a lenticular in which a lens body having low shape accuracy is disposed on one end portion, when the other end portion of the lenticular is detected, a position of a carriage at the time of detecting the end portion of the lenticular is stored in a buffer as a paper end position, a carriage motor is controlled such that the carriage is separated from a home position and moved in a main scanning direction, and a printing head is controlled such that an ink discharge having a color according to printing data is started at the paper end position. Since the lens body having high shape accuracy is disposed on the end portion of the lenticular, it is possible to land the ink onto a more suitable position with respect to the lens body, thereby allowing printing quality to be improved.

Printing apparatus, printing medium, and printing method

When printing is performed by discharging ink from a printing head onto a lenticular, a carriage motor is controlled such that a carriage is moved in a main scanning direction at a velocity which is slower than a movement velocity of the carriage at the time of performing a normal printing process with respect to a recording medium different from the lenticular as a recording paper and further separated from a home position, and the printing head is controlled such that an ink discharge having a color according to printing data is started with respect to an end portion of the lenticular, and thus the printing of one pass is started. Since the velocity is slower than the movement velocity of the carriage at the time of performing the normal printing process, it is possible to improve printing quality at the time of performing printing with respect to the lenticular.

Printing apparatus and printing method

A lens sheet is provided with a lens layer which is formed by arranging lenses, which extend in a y direction as a first direction, in a plurality of lines in an x direction as a second direction which is a direction which is orthogonal to the first direction, and an ink absorbing layer which configures a surface on the opposite side with regard to a surface which is configured by the lens layer, where the thickness of an edge which is an end surface on one side of the lens layer in the x direction is thinner than the thickness of an edge which is an end surface on the other side. The printer performs recording from the edge which is a reference side toward the edge on the opposite side.

Recording apparatus

An upper cassette for which a media feed direction length is shorter than that of a lower cassette is provided movably in a medium feed direction to a device main unit. When the upper cassette is not moving, and when the upper cassette is not in a feed state, if the upper cassette is at a position further to a side of a feed position than a removal position, the upper cassette is moved to the removal position.

Recording device

A printing device includes a printing mechanism configured to print a printing medium fed to a printing area in a device main body, a stacker configured to receive the printing medium discharged from the printing area, a drive device configured to cause a state of the stacker to be a housed state in which the stacker is housed in the device main body and a projecting state in which the stacker is positioned outside the device main body, and a control device configured to change the state of the stacker from the housed state to the projecting state by controlling the drive device. When a housing condition is established while the state of the stacker is the projecting state, the control device is configured to perform an automatic housing process to change the state of the stacker to the housed state by controlling the drive device.

Printing device

In order for skew relative to the transport direction to be detected in a sheet which is transported to a recording unit, a carriage is initially moved in a scanning direction to a first position and the sheet is transported in this state. Then, when the front edge of the sheet in the transport direction is detected by a second sensor, the carriage is moved in a direction so that the second sensor is no longer able to locate the front edge to a second position, which is separated from the first position by a regulating movement distance. Furthermore, the sheet is transported to where the second sensor locates the front edge of the sheet in the transport direction at the second position and skew in the sheet is detected based on this transport distance and the regulating movement distance.

Printing apparatus

To reduce noise during paper conveyance while ensuring printing efficiency of an inkjet printer, a printing device is equipped with a control unit for moving a recording head back and forth in the scan direction according to the rotation of a carriage motor, a conveyance unit for extracting and feeding paper, conveying the paper in the sub scan direction to match the movement of the recording head to print the fed paper, and ejecting the printed paper according to the rotation of a conveyance motor, a paper reversal unit for coordinating with the rotation of the rotation means of the conveyance motor to reverse the front and back of the paper, and a printing control unit for controlling spraying of the ink from the recording head, as well as controlling the carriage motor and the conveyance motor.

To provide a recording device enabling unencumbered movement of a stacker to a target position at which an amount of extension that corresponds to the length of a medium is reached, a printer is provided with a conveyance unit for conveying paper, a paper length determination unit for determining the length of the paper in the direction of conveyance of the paper, a recording unit for recording onto the paper being conveyed, one stacker for receiving the already-recorded paper, an electric motor for driving the stacker, and a controller for controlling the electric motor. The controller (in particular, a stacker control unit) controls the electric motor and controls the stacker to a position at which the amount of extension that corresponds to the length of the paper is reached.

To provide a recording device that can inhibit the occurrence of a recording media jam state in a shared passage part that is shared as a recording media shared path with a plurality of media supply paths, this is equipped with a plurality of conveyance paths for supplying paper, a shared passage part, a moving unit that moves the paper, a printing unit that performs printing on the paper, an insertion port that is able to insert paper in the conveyance path by paper being inserted, an opening and closing lid provided so that the insertion port can be opened and closed, a detection sensor for detecting an open lid state when the opening and closing lid opens the insertion port, and a movement control unit that, when the detection sensor detects the open lid state.

A recording device includes a judgment unit and a control unit. The judgment unit judges whether or not a designated standby time has elapsed still without a next recording job after the current recording job performed by the recording unit has ended in a state with the first media housing unit arranged in the feed position. The control unit controls the drive unit to hold the first media housing unit in the feed position when the judgment unit judges that it is before the standby time has elapsed, and on the other hand, to move the first media housing unit from the feed position to the removal position when the judgment unit judges that it is after the standby time has elapsed.

Disclosed herein is a scanner device which scans a predetermined scan object and generates image data, the scanner device including: an image sensor which converts an optical image of the scan object into corresponding image data; a movement unit which moves a carriage having the image sensor in a sub-scan direction; a first control unit which controls the movement unit by a first control process; a second control unit which controls the movement unit by a second control process different from the first control process; and a selection unit which selects the first or the second control unit according to setting contents relating to a scan.

Scanner device, printing device and scan method

The invention provides, as an aspect thereof, an document reading apparatus that includes: a speed calculating unit that calculates a speed related to the rotation of a motor on the basis of a signal that is outputted from an encoder; and a controlling unit that calculates control amount on the basis of the speed calculated by the speed calculating unit so as to control the rotation of the motor in accordance with the calculated control amount. In the configuration of an document reading apparatus according to this aspect of the invention, the above-mentioned controlling unit controls the motor with an increase in the control amount in a case where there occurs no change in the signal that is outputted from the encoder for a certain period of time. The increase in the control amount is based on the length of time that has elapsed since the last change in the signal.

Document reading apparatus, document reading method, and program for reading document

A printer is provided with: a detector, operable to output an output signal in accordance with a state of a printing medium transported within the printer; and a control signal generator, operable to generate a control signal in accordance with a level of the output signal relative to a threshold. In order to control the printer, the output signal is detected. A timing signal indicative of a timing to judge the state of the printing medium is detected. The control signal is generated with at least two of: a first method, in which the control signal is made valid when the level of the output signal reaches the threshold after the timing signal is detected, and the control signal is unchanged until when a first time period is elapsed from when the control signal is made valid; a second method, in which the control signal is made valid when the level of the output signal reaches the threshold at least once after the timing signal is detected, and the control signal is unchanged until when a next timing signal is detected; and a third method, in which the control signal is made valid in accordance with a condition that the level of the output signal lastly reaches the threshold before a second time period is elapsed from when the timing signal is detected, and the control signal is unchanged until when a next timing signal is detected.
