A cell culture device comprises a first inner cylinder formed in a tubular shape, a cell culture membrane placed to cover over an entire one end of the first inner cylinder and configured to be folded down toward an outer surface of the first inner cylinder along an outer circumference at the one end of the first inner cylinder, and an outer cylinder formed in a tubular shape, configured to place the first inner cylinder inside thereof such that a height direction of the outer cylinder is identical with a height direction of the first inner cylinder, and provided with a first slit in an area overlapping with at least the one end of the first inner cylinder to be extended in the height direction, wherein the cell culture membrane is held between an inner wall surface of the outer cylinder and the outer surface of the first inner cylinder.

Cell culture device

A method for fabricating a plated product including a basecoat layer, a metal plating layer, and a topcoat layer that are formed on a surface of a base is provided. The method includes the step of forming the basecoat layer and the metal plating layer successively on the surface of the base. The step is followed by removing impurities from the surface of the metal plating layer. The topcoat layer is then formed on the surface of the metal plating layer.

Method for fabricating plated products

A paint composition for use in a resin molding product prevents the appearance of coating film sink marks caused by unevenness of the coated surface by incorporating a coloring pigment and an extender pigment into the paint composition. The coloring and extender pigments are present in the paint composition in a total pigment weight concentration (PWC) of less than 30%.

Paint composition for use with resin molding products

A method for fabricating a plated product with a basecoat layer, a metal plating layer, and a topcoat layer that are formed on a surface of a base is provided. The method includes the step of forming the basecoat layer and the metal plating layer on the surface of the base. The step is followed by subjecting the metal plating layer to a cold heat treatment or an ultrasonic wave treatment, thus forming a microcrack in the metal plating layer. Afterwards, the topcoat layer is formed on the surface of the metal plating layer.

A glittering paint, not requiring formation of primer layer and/or clear top coat layer includes a coated film forming polymer, a glittering pigment comprising inorganic powder and a solvent, wherein the coated film forming polymer comprising a pigment carrying polymer, wherein the pigment carrying polymer has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 50,000 and a refractive index n of at least 1.48 as measured by an Abbe refractometer, the coated film forming polymer has an entire weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at least 50,000, the inorganic powder has an aspect ration of particle length or diameter to particle thickness of at least 50, and the glittering pigment content (PWC) in the coated film is 15 wt % or less.

Glittering pigment and glittering coated film

A flexible lustered product used in automobiles. The flexible lustered product includes a base material made of resin. A base coat layer is formed on at least a portion of a surface of the base material by applying a coating. The base coat layer has a glass transition point that is at least &minus;30&deg; C. and at most 0&deg; C. The base coat layer includes a silane coupling agent having a mercapto group. A metal film layer is applied to at least a portion of a surface of the base coat layer. The metal film layer is anticorrosive and has a thickness that is at least 150 &angst; and at most 800 &angst;. The metal film layer is formed by a plurality of metal particles disposed in contact with one another so as to define a grain boundary between adjacent metal particles. A top coat layer is formed on at least a portion of a surface of the metal film layer by applying a coating.

Flexible lustered products

An electromagnetic shield includes a resin substrate having a surface coated with an electromagnetic shielding paint. A grounding structure includes a metal plate held in abutment against the surface of the substrate coated with the paint. The metal plate may be curved in order to prevent exfoliation of the shielding paint. Alternatively, the metal plate may be flat, in which case a conductive sheet is placed between the metal plate and a cated layer. The conductive sheet may be conductive rubber sheet or a woven metal sheet.

Grounding structure for electromagnetic wave shield

A flexible lustered product used in automobiles. The flexible lustered product includes a base material made of resin. A base coat layer is applied to at least a portion of the surface of the base material. The base coat layer has a glass transition point that is at least minus 30&deg; C. and at most 0&deg; C. The base coat layer includes a silane coupling agent having an epoxy group. A metal film layer is applied to at least a portion of the surface of the base coat layer. The metal film layer is anticorrosive and has a thickness that is at least 150 &angst; and at most 800 &angst;. The metal film layer is formed by a plurality of metal particles disposed in contact with one another so as to define a grain boundary between adjacent metal particles. A top coat layer is applied to at least a portion of the surface of the metal film layer. The top coat layer includes an ultraviolet ray absorbent and a silane coupling agent having an epoxy group.

A master brake cylinder comprises a reservoir and a cylinder for generating fluid pressure. Provided in the cylinder is a sliding piston, and mounted to front and rear ends of piston are piston cups for sealing a gap between the piston and the cylinder. The piston cups comprise a substrate made of rubber and a coating layer made of diamond-like carbon and provided on an outer peripheral surface (sliding surface) of the substrate. A surface of the coating layer constitutes a sliding surface, and so a frictional resistance thereof relative to an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder, on which the coating layer slides, is made relatively low. The coating layer can easily follow deformation of the substrate and securely adheres to the substrate.

Elastic product

Four sets of shower heads 100, 200, 300, 400 are located in a surface modifying chamber of a surface modifying apparatus, and each shower head 100, 200, 300, 400 has surface modifier piping including a plurality of spray nozzles. The nozzles are arranged such that showers of an aqueous ozone solution injected from every adjacent two nozzles will contact the resin molded product and partly overlap one another. The phases in position of the nozzles can be offset a half-pitch or staggered with the staggered arrangement of the nozzles serving to compensate for any insufficient oxidation reaction to achieve uniform surface modification over the entire surface of the resin molded product 2. Further, the time required for the surface modification treatment can be reduced.

Surface modifying apparatus for resin moldings

A flexible metallized product having a base material made of a soft resin material comprising polypropylene mixed with diene or polypropylene mixed with rubber, a base coat layer formed on the surface of the base material, a metal thin film layer formed on the surface of the base coat layer and a top coat layer covering the metal thin film layer. The metal thin film layer is made of a corrosion resistant metal such as chromium. The metal thin film layer has a thickness of at least 150 .ANG. and no greater than 800 .ANG. by means of a vacuum vapor deposition or sputtering. The metal thin film layer is constituted by a plurality of metal particles. The metal particles are disposed such that adjacent metal particles are in contact with one another to form a grain boundary therebetween.

Flexible metallized products and process for producing the same

A fuel additive pipe 11 comprised of a pipe main body 12 and a plating layer 13 formed on the external or interior wall surface of the pipe main body 12 and composed of an electroless plating layer 131 and an electroplating layer 132. The pipe main body 12 contains a high-density polyethylene as a base material and an additive 21 such as mica. While the pipe main body 12 is subjected to an etching treatment, the additive 21 does not dissolve in the etching solution, so that the additive 21 protrudes from the surface of the pipe main body 12. The thus protruding additive 21 serves as the starting point for forming the electroless plating layer 131 and promotes growth of the layer 131. This electroless plating layer 131 is firmly bonded with the pipe main body 12 by chemical absorption to the additive 21 from which inactive sites are removed by the etching treatment as well as by the physical absorption to the fine roughness formed by the etching treatment on the surface of the pipe main body 12.

Fuel filler pipe

A method for manufacturing a resin product with a mold having at least two molds opposed to each other. Each of the molds 5 has a cavity surface defining a space therebetween. The method includes the steps of performing an ionic nitriding treatment to at least a part of at least one cavity surface to form fine projections and recesses therein. A nitride layer is provided on the one cavity surface. The method further includes filling the space with a plastic resin material, solidifying the resin material, and removing the solidified resin material from the mold.

Method of molding a product having low gloss surface

A resin product has a body made of a resin. The body has an outer surface including an ornamental surface and an unornamental surface, a first area defined on the outer surface, and a chemical plating layer and an electroplating layer respectively formed on the first area. A process for producing the resin product comprises the step of making a first boundary along a contour of the first area located on the ornamental surface, and the step of making a second boundary along a contour of the first area located on the unornamental surface. The step of making the second boundary includes forming a resist layer on the unornamental surface. The resist layer has a resistivity to a chemical plating solution for making the chemical plating layer. The process also includes the step of forming the chemical plating layer on the outer surface of the body except a part of the first boundary and the resist layer by chemical plating the body, and the step of selectively forming the electroplating layer on the chemical plating layer within the first area.

Process for producing resin products

A sealing apparatus, which provides a seal between a metal surface and a member sliding along the metal surface is made of rubber material which contains a rubber polymer having alkyl lateral chains. At least a part of alkyl group hydrogen of rubber polymer in cortex is substituted from fluorine by plasma treatment. The plasma treatment reduces the noise which is normally present in device as of this type.
