Provided is a rear vehicle-body structure of a vehicle, capable of reducing vibrations transmitted from a rear wheel to a floor panel, while ensuring required performance for rear side frames and a cross member. The rear vehicle-body structure comprises a symmetric pair of frame members extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction along respective lateral sides of a rear of a vehicle body of the vehicle, and a rear-side rear cross member bridging the symmetric pair of frame members in a vehicle width direction, wherein an attachment portion between each of the frame members and the rear-side rear cross member provided with rigidity difference generation part to generate a rigidity difference between the frame member and the rear-side rear cross member.

There are provided a front side frame having a closed cross section extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction and including a mount-bracket attachment part for attaching a PT mount bracket provided at a PT mount for supporting a powertrain and a crash can attached to a front end of the front side frame. The front side frame includes a compressive-deformation part which is configured to be compressively deformed in a vehicle frontal collision and extend rearward from the front end, having substantially the same sectional shape as the crash can. A gusset member for preventing shearing deformation of the closed cross section of the front side frame is provided at a portion of the front side frame between the mount-bracket attachment part and the compressive-deformation part.

A front body structure of a vehicle includes: a cowl panel supporting a front window member; and an outside air introducing duct of an air conditioner. The cowl panel includes: a protruding portion which is located under a portion supporting the front window member, protrudes in a forward direction, and is provided with an opening portion; and a vertical wall portion extending in a downward direction from a lower end of the protruding portion. The outside air introducing duct includes: an opening connected to the opening portion; and a deformation promoting portion formed on at least one of vehicle-width-direction side surfaces of the outside air introducing duct and configured to promote rearward displacement of the opening when the protruding portion receives a collision load from outside.

Front body structure of vehicle

A cowl panel comprises an upper face portion, a protrusion portion, a vertical wall portion, and a lower face portion. A front end of the protrusion portion is configured in a curve shape in a plan view such that a central portion, in the vehicle width direction, of the front end is positioned forward the most. A lower end of the vertical wall portion is configured such that at least a central portion, in the vehicle width direction, of the lower end extends substantially straightly in the vehicle width direction. Accordingly, the flexibility of interior design can be improved, and also both the NVH performance and the pedestrian protection performance can be ensured.

A support structure of a windshield of the present invention comprises a frame having an open section opening forward in a vehicle and a support member provided inside the frame and connecting an upper face portion and a lower face portion of the frame. The frame has a windshield support portion supporting a lower side portion of the windshield at part of the upper face portion. The support member includes a rear support portion attached to the upper face portion of the frame and a front support portion attached to a cowl panel at a specified location positioned in front of the rear support portion. The windshield support portion is positioned between the front and rear support portions in the vehicle longitudinal direction.

An instrument panel which is supported at a cowl panel at a front-side portion thereof is provided. The cowl panel includes an upper face wall which faces to a windshield from below, a bending portion which is formed at a rear end of the upper face wall and bendable in a vehicle collision, and a rear face wall which extends downward from the bending portion and has a lower portion connecting to a dash panel. The instrument panel includes a first restriction portion to restrict a downward move of the instrument panel by contacting the upper face wall of the cowl member, and a second restriction portion to restrict an upward move of the instrument panel by said rear face wall of the cowl member at a lower portion of the front-side portion thereof.
