The present disclosure relates to a route search system including a route search apparatus that communicates with a mobile terminal. The route search apparatus includes: a communication unit that receives, from the mobile terminal, a search request including identification information of a user, and transmits a search result corresponding to the search request to the mobile terminal of the user; and a control unit that executes a search process for a multimodal route that includes at least one of a pedestrian route, a non-public route, and a public route, in accordance with the received search request, and causes the communication unit to transmit the multimodal route as a search result. The control unit causes a passage schedule of the at least one route, and identification information, of traveling means used for traveling along the at least one route, which is associated with the identification information of the user, to be included in a data content of the multimodal route.

A direct current relay includes a plurality of contact pairs, and a plurality of magnets (). Each of the plurality of contact pairs is configured having contacts () with contact regions () disposed to allow opening and closure with respect to each other. The plurality of contact pairs are disposed such that the plurality of magnets () are disposed on one straight line, and the contact pairs are located between the magnets () on a line identical to the straight line. Each of the plurality of magnets () is provided to distort an arc generated between contacts () on an occasion of relay cut off in a direction crossing the straight line. Even if a backward current flows, arcs will not interfere with each other, allowing extinguishing in a short time. Accordingly, a direct current relay can be obtained, capable of cutting off a high direct current voltage in a short time even on an occasion of backward current while minimizing the number of magnets and allowing down-sizing with a simple structure.

An AC component of the photodetector includes two quasi-sine waves in a cycle of phase-modulation. T.sub.1 and T.sub.2 are time lengths of the quasi-sine waves. When a fiber coil is rotating, T.sub.1 differs from T.sub.2. The difference between T.sub.1 and T.sub.2 is in proportion to an angular velocity of the fiber coil. This invention obtains the angular velocity by measuring time durations T.sub.1, T.sub.2 or both T.sub.1 and T.sub.2. An optical fiber type polarizer comprises a first optical fiber constituted by a birefringent optical fiber wound at a predetermined winding radius and having winding start and end fixed to each other by an adhesive, the first optical fiber having short extra portions respectively extending from the winding start and end, and the length of each of the short extra porions being at least as small as the predetermined winding radius. The optical fiber type polarizer further comprises a second optical fiber spliced to one of the short extra portions of the first optical fiber, and a third optical fiber spliced to the other of the short extra portions of the first optical fiber.

A fiber-optic gyroscope has a polarizer, a fiber coil and couplers. A light beam is polarized, divided into two beams and introduced into the fiber coil. Two depolarizer fiber-optic gyroscope that eliminates interference

A fiber-optic gyroscope having a single mode fiber coil for sensing the rotation suffers from drift or fluctuation of scale factor of the output signals owing to spontaneous rotation of polarization of beams propagated in the fiber coil. Thus, two depolarizers are required in front of and at the back of the polarizer to avoid the fluctuation. The depolarizer of prior art consists of two birefringent materials twistedly connected with each other at an about 45.degree. inclination angle between the principal axes of one and the principal axes of the other. A conventional fiber-type depolarizer has two polarization maintaining fibers connected together. A new, simplified depolarizer is proposed. The depolarizer is built by gluing a polarization maintaining fiber to an end of the polarizer with an about 45.degree. inclination angle between the principal axes of the fiber and the principal axes of the polarizer. The depolarizer allows us to dispense with one polarization maintaining fiber and spare the operation for connecting fibers by once.
