A working vehicle is provided for improving safety and work efficiency by changing a travel speed limit appropriately depending on forms and conditions of work. The working vehicle is driven with an engine, and a working machine such as a working pump is mounted on the vehicle. Fuel supplied to the engine is regulated by an injector. Travel speeds of the working vehicle are detected with a vehicle speed sensor. A control unit is provided with a high speed travel mode which limits vehicle speed at or below a predetermined high speed limit and a low speed travel mode which limits vehicle speed at or below a low speed limit which is set below the high speed limit. In this way, either the high speed travel mode or the low speed travel mode is set according to a changeover signal from a travel mode changeover switch.

Working vehicle

A working vehicle is provided which can be smoothly started with a large driving force, and uniformly conducts a various types of works even if a travel speed varies. A working machine such as a working pump, which is also driven by an engine for driving the vehicle, is mounted on the working vehicle. The power is transmitted from a crank shaft of the engine to wheels through a torque converter provided with a lock-up clutch and an automatic transmission. The crank shaft is also connected to a driving unit for driving the working pump through gears. A transmission ratio of the automatic transmission is set to a predetermined value corresponding with work modes J -J . In such a way, the work modes J -J are set according to characteristics of the work, in which there exists a predetermined relationship between a work amount and a vehicle speed. Therefore, fertilizer, sand, and chemicals can be appropriately and uniformly spread through a changeover of the modes.

A working vehicle for work such as a turf grass management is provided, which has an improved climb-up performance and an improved engine-break force at a stage of climbing down a slope. The working vehicle mounts a working machine driven by an engine and also a continuously variable transmission thereon, and has a climb-up or climb-down mode Df which sets a transmission ratio of the continuously variable transmission at a maximum value during travel of a slope. The climb-up or climb-down mode Df is selected by an operation of a shift lever or automatically detected by climb-up or climb-down detectors. When the mode Df is set, a pulley ratio of the continuously variable transmission is controlled so as to have the maximum transmission ratio based on a command signal of a control unit.

A turn assisting mechanism assists a turning motion of a vehicle, such as a lawn mowing vehicle, so that the vehicle may not damage the ground (lawn grass, crops, etc.) when the vehicle makes a U-turn. The turn assisting mechanism is disposed near a wheel of the vehicle nearest to the center of turning of the vehicle about which the vehicle makes a U-turn. The turn assisting mechanism stretches out the rod of a hydraulic cylinder actuator to set a ground contact unit on the ground and lifts up the wheel nearest to the center of turning of the vehicle. When the vehicle makes a U-turn, the hydraulic cylinder actuator sets the ground contact unit on the ground so that the axis of turning of the ground contact unit passes the center of turning of the vehicle, and lifts up the corresponding wheel from the ground. The vehicle makes a U-turn on the ground contact unit without damaging the ground.

Turn assisting mechanism for a vehicle

A steering system and method of a mowing vehicle comprise Left and right rear wheels rotating about a king pin for steering the vehicle, an Ackermann steering mechanism for steering these left and right rear wheels and a rear axle housing swingably connected with the vehicle about a yawing axis in a horizontal plane by use of a hydraulic cylinder. When the vehicle makes a U-turn for example to the right during the mowing work, the rear axle housing is fully swung to the left in the horizontal plane by a specified angle and fixed therein while the left and right rear wheels are held at the neutral position. After the rear axle housing is fixed at that angle, the left and right rear wheels are rotated about the king pin to the left and then the vehicle makes a U-turn to the right. When the vehicle finishes to turn, the left and right rear wheels are rotated about the king pin to the right until the neutral position and then the rear axle housing is swung in the horizontal plane back to the right until the neutral position. When the vehicle makes a U-turn to the left, the same operations are carried out. Since the rear wheels are steered after the rear axle housing is swung in the horizontal plane and fixed, the vehicle can make a U-turn with a minimal turning radius, retaining the Ackermann steering condition and the lawn can be prevented from being damaged by the wheels.

Steering system for working vehicle and the method thereof

An apparatus for detecting a extending boundary between fields mowed and not mowed by an cutting blade mechanism of an autonomous vehicle for the mowing of lawn grass, comprises a plurality of rocking members provided to be aligned in a lateral direction of the vehicle under a body of the vehicle, a plurality of rocking condition sensors provided to detect rocking conditions of the respective rocking members, and a control unit provided to determine a boundary between a rocking member rocked by taller lawn grass and a rocking member not rocked as the boundary between the mowed field and not mowed field in response to signals from the rocking condition sensors. There is further provided a method for shifting the vehicle to a ready position of a next lane to be mowed in the work area based on the result of the detection by the boundary detecting apparatus.

A power spray device mounted on a truck comprises a pumping device for chemicals or water to be sprayed, and an engine for driving the pumping device. The power spray device is mounted on the underside of the loading platform at one side of the loading platform. The engine is operated with fuel supplied from a fuel supply system of an engine for driving the truck.

In a carburetor of a motor vehicle engine having an accelerating pump for supplying additional fuel when an accelerator pedal is depressed to a large extent, the accelerator pedal is connected to a slider which is connected through an accelerating pump cable to a swing arm for actuating the accelerating pump via a link and a lever. The slider is connected also to a throttle lever through a throttle cable. The throttle lever is coupled to a throttle shaft of a throttle valve by means of a torsion spring. When the accelerator pedal is depressed, the throttle cable and the accelerating pump cable are pulled, and the control lever is turned to rotate the throttle shaft by way of the spring in a direction toward an open position of the throttling valve so that the engine is accelerated, while the accelerating fuel pump is operated through the swing arm, the link and the lever so that an increased amount of fuel is supplied by the pump. Since the throttle valve and the accelerating pump are operated separately by way of the respective cables, the throttle shaft can be rotated with a small torque and the speed control can be carried out exactly without delay.

Device for controlling speed of an engine

A valve body has a bore with a tapered bore portion fuel inlet and outlet ports and air inlet and outlet ports which are communicated with the bore. The fuel cock is provided with a fuel plug having a piston end and is rotatably engaged in the tapered bore of the valve body so as to close and open a fuel passage between the fuel inlet and outlet ports, and an air plug rotatably engaged in the bore so as to close and open an air passage between the air inlet and outlet ports. A chamber is formed between the piston end of the fuel plug and the air plug, and the pressure of the air at the air inlet port is applied to the chamber and to the piston end to urge the fuel plug towards a small diameter end so as to insure sealing effect. The fuel plug and air plug are so arranged as to close and open both the fuel passage and air passage at the same time.

The exhaust gas system and the water jet propelling device are provided in the box. A part of the jet water is used as a cooling water of the engine. The box comprises three superimposed cases having partitions, dividing the box into an exhaust gas passageway constituting a plurality of expansion chambers and passages for exhaust gases with the exhaust gas passageway defining a gas exhaust path arranged in three dimensions, thereby preventing entry of water from the outlet port through the exhaust gas passageway to the exhaust port of the engine.
