A hydraulic control valve allows increased flexibility of port layout without requiring high dimensional accuracy. The hydraulic control valve includes a cylindrical valve body having, at a cylindrical shaft portion, retard and advance ports and reintroduction ports, and a spool valve provided slidably in an axial direction in the valve body and permitting switching between supply/discharge of working fluid to/from retard and advance hydraulic chambers through land portions. The control valve further includes a cylindrical sleeve formed with synthetic resin material and fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical shaft portion, and an actuator that moves the spool valve in an axial direction. The sleeve has, at a peripheral wall thereof, retard and advance oil passage holes communicating with retard and advance ports, and has, on an inner peripheral surface thereof, communication grooves communicating with the reintroduction ports.

Hydraulic control valve and valve-timing control device for internal-combustion engine using hydraulic control valve

A control valve is configured to reduce an axial length of a device as much as possible, thereby improving its mountability. The valve is equipped with a valve body functioning as a cam bolt for connecting a vane rotor to one end of a camshaft, a sleeve fixed to an inner peripheral surface of the valve body, and a spool valve element axially slidably housed in the sleeve for switching between supply and discharge of working fluid to and from each of a phase-retard working chamber and a phase-advance working chamber. The valve body has a male screw part formed on an outer peripheral surface and screwed into a female screw part formed in a cam bolt hole. The position of formation of the male screw part and the position of the spool valve element are arranged to overlap with each other in an axial cross-section.

Control valve for valve timing control device and valve timing control device for internal combustion engine

An electromagnetic valve has: a coil; a casing encircling the coil and having a cylinder portion and nail portions; a movable core moving axially in the wound coil; a fixed core set at an opening end of the casing; a valve body fixed to the opening end of the casing together with the fixed core by bending inwards the nail portions; and a spool valve body moving axially in the valve body. The nail portion is provided with a wide width portion at a root side, a narrow width portion at a top side and a stepped portion between the wide width portion and the narrow width portion. The stepped portion is positioned at a substantially same position as an outer edge of one end portion of the valve body, or positioned at a cylinder portion side with respect to the one end portion outer edge of the valve body.

Electromagnetic valve and fixing structure

A variable valve actuating apparatus includes: a first lock recessed portion; a first lock member; a second lock recessed portion formed in the second rotary member's side; a second lock member; a first lock passage arranged to supply the hydraulic fluid, and thereby to move the first lock member out of the first lock recessed portion; and a second lock passage arranged to supply the hydraulic fluid, and thereby to move the second lock member out of the second lock recessed portion, at least a part of the first lock recessed portion and at least a part of the second lock recessed portion being disposed at a position to be projected in an axial direction when the first lock member and the second lock member are in the lock state.

Variable valve actuating apparatus for internal combustion engine

Even if an internal combustion engine is stopped having a lock pin of a vane rotor kept disengaged from a lock recess, subsequent engine starting can instantly move the vane rotor to a desired angular position where the lock member an be engaged with the lock recess. The vane rotor has therein two passage control mechanisms each having a hydraulically actuated valve body. When the valve body is moved to a given position, retarding and advancing hydraulic holes become communicated to each other through an annular groove of the valve body. Due to this ON communication, retarding and advancing operation chambers become communicated, so that reciprocative swing movement of the vane rotor induced by an alternating torque produced at the starting of the engine is effectively made and thus the vane rotor can be quickly turned to the desired angular position for ease of engine starting.

Valve timing control device of internal combustion engine

A hydraulic control unit is configured to switch among a first state where a discharge passage of a pump driven by an internal combustion engine communicates with both a phase-advance passage and a lock passage and simultaneously a phase-retard passage communicates with a drain passage, a second state where the discharge passage communicates with both the phase-retard passage and the lock passage and simultaneously the phase-advance passage communicates with the drain passage, and a third state where the phase-advance passage, the phase-retard passage, and the lock passage all communicate with the discharge passage. The hydraulic control unit is further switchable to a fourth state where the discharge passage communicates with both the phase-advance passage and the phase-retard passage and simultaneously the lock passage communicates with the drain passage.

Hydraulic control unit for use in valve timing control apparatus and controller for hydraulic control unit

A directional control valve is configured to switch among a first position at which a discharge passage communicates with a phase-advance passage and a phase-retard passage and a lock passage communicates with a drain passage, a second position at which the discharge passage communicates with the phase-advance passage and the lock passage and the phase-retard passage communicates with the drain passage, a third position at which the discharge passage communicates with the phase-retard passage and the lock passage and the phase-advance passage communicates with the drain passage, and a fourth position at which the discharge passage communicates with the lock passage and fluid-communication between the discharge passage and each of the phase-advance passage and the phase-retard passage is blocked. The directional control valve is further switchable to a sixth position at which the phase-advance passage, the phase-retard passage, and the lock passage all communicate with the discharge passage.
