The object of the present invention is to attain both water/oil repellency and hardness. The transparent film of the present invention comprises: a polysiloxane backbone; and a first hydrocarbon chain-containing group bonded to a part of silicon atoms forcing the polysiloxane backbone, wherein the thickness of the transparent film is not less than 6 nm and not more than 50 nm.

Transparent film

It is an object of the present invention to provide a coating film capable of realizing satisfactory sliding properties in addition to water- and oil-repellent properties and wear resistance evaluated by a static contact angle, and a coating composition for obtaining the coating film. The present invention is directed to a fluorine-containing coating film which has a root mean square roughness of less than 3.5 nm and has a perfluoropolyether structure. It is preferred that the coating film has a polysiloxane backbone and further has a structure in which a fluoroalkyl group is directly bonded to a silicon atom of the polysiloxane backbone, and that a sliding angle of 6 &#x3bc;L of a water droplet is 24.3&#xb0; or less, or a speed of 20 &#x3bc;L of a water droplet sliding on a coating film inclined at 32&#xb0; is 0.1 cm/second or more.

Fluorine-containing coating film and water- and oil-repellent coating composition

A mixed composition comprising an organosilicon compound represented by the following formula (a1), a solvent, water, and a carboxylic acid compound, wherein a mass ratio of the water to the organosilicon compound is 30.0 or more. In the following formula (a1), a plurality of Aeach independently represent a hydrolyzable group, Zrepresents a hydrocarbon chain-containing group, x is 0 or 1. Rrepresents an alkyl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms in which a part of methylene groups may be replaced with an oxygen atom and one or more hydrogen atoms may be replaced with a fluorine atom, and Zand Rmay be the same or different. 

Mixed composition

The object of the present invention is to provide a polydialkylsiloxane backbone containing film excellent in durability against hot water. The film of the present invention comprises a polydialkylsiloxane backbone, wherein the ratio of carbon atoms to silicon atoms (C/Si) is not less than 0.93 and less than 1.38 in terms of moles. In the film, the magnitude of a contact angle change ratio drepresented by a specific formula can be not less than &#x2212;10% provided that &#x3b8;is an initial contact angle of water, and &#x3b8;is a contact angle of water on the film immersed in ion-exchanged water of 70&#xb0; C. for 24 hours.

Film

The object of the present invention is to provide a water/oil-repellent coating composition for forming a film capable of attaining both water/oil repellency and abrasion resistance. The water/oil-repellent coating composition comprises: an organosilicon compound (A) and a metal compound (B), wherein at least one first hydrocarbon chain-containing group and at least one hydrolyzable group are bonded to a silicon atom in the organosilicon compound (A), where in at least one hydrolyzable group is bonded to a metal atom in the metal compound (B), wherein a second hydrocarbon chain-containing group having a length shorter than the length of the first hydrocarbon chain-containing group may be bonded to the metal atom in the metal compound (B), and wherein a molar ratio of the metal compound B) to the organosilicon compound (A) as metal compound (B)/organosilicon compound (A) is not less than 18 and not more than 48.

Water/oil-repellent coating composition

The object of present invention is to provide a transparent film which further improves a slip characteristic of waterdrop. The present invention is a transparent film having a polysiloxane backbone, the transparent film having a structure (a) in which a fluorine-containing group having a perfluoroalkyl group or a perfluoropolyether group on the free end side thereof is bonded to a silicon atom of the polysiloxane backbone, and the transparent film having a slip rate of 0.2 mm/s or more for a 120 &#x3bc;l waterdrop on an 8&#xb0; incline. In preferred embodiment, the fluorine-containing groups are bonded to some silicon atoms of the polysiloxane backbone in structure (a), and the transparent film has a structure (b) in which carbon fluoride-containing groups or hydrolysable silane oligomer residue are bonded to some of the remaining silicon atoms of the polysiloxane backbone.
