Provided is a technique of reducing a force required to couple a receptacle connector and a plug connector. A receptacle assistant fitting of the receptacle connector includes a cantilevered lock beam having a deflection part extending in a direction substantially parallel to a connector mounting surface of a receptacle side substrate and in the outside of a receptacle housing. A plug assistant fitting of the plug connector includes an engagement part that pushes aside the free end of the lock beam and rides over the free end of the lock beam so as to be engaged with the free end of the lock beam when the plug connector and the receptacle connector are coupled to each other.

Electrical connector

A connector unit which is capable of suppressing lowering of a clicking feeling, even if the fitting and removing of connectors to and from each other is repeated. A spring portion that receives a contact portion of each of plug contacts of a plug connector when a receptacle connector and the plug connector are fitted to each other is formed on each of receptacle contacts of the receptacle connector. A protrusion is formed on the contact portion of each plug contact. The spring portion is formed to have an auxiliary contact portion that is urged by the protrusion when both of the connectors are fitted to each other, and a recess that receives the protrusion when the both of the connectors are fitted to each other.

Connector unit with a clicking feeling

A connector capable of maintaining contact reliability even with reduced arrangement pitch of contacts. First and second contacts are alternately arranged on a housing along contact arrangement direction orthogonal to direction of fitting the housing to a receptacle connector. A first contact portion, first bending portion, and first connecting portion connected to a coaxial cable, of each first contact are disposed on an upper surface, front portion and rear portion of the arranging portion, respectively. A linkage portion connecting the first bending and connecting portions, and a second contact portion continuous with a second connecting portion of each second contact are disposed on a lower surface of the arranging portion. A second bending portion disposed on the front portion is continuous with the second contact portion. The linkage portion is smaller in width in the arrangement direction than the first and second contact portions.

A locking device which has a strong locking force and is difficult to be broken. Leaf springs bending in a direction toward or away from the rear end of a function expansion card are provided in a housing, and locking sections for locking the function expansion card are connected to the leaf springs. Guide sections are provided in the housing, for guiding the outer ends of the leaf springs in the direction of bending of the leaf springs.

Locking device and connector provided with the same

A connector which enables effective use of the space on a circuit board effectively, and facilitates impedance matching between contacts. The connector is comprised of a first connector section () and a second connector section (). A receiving hole () is formed in a first housing () of the first connector section (), for receiving and holding a terminal section () of a first function expansion card (). A plurality of contacts () are arranged in the first housing (), for electrically connecting the first function expansion card () to a printed wiring board (). A first locking device () is disposed in the first housing (), for locking a rear end of a second function expansion card (). A receiving hole () is formed in a second housing () of the second connector section (), for receiving and holding a terminal section () of the second function expansion card (). A plurality of contacts () are arranged in the second housing (), for electrically connecting the second function expansion card () to the printed wiring board (). A second locking device () is disposed in the second housing (), for locking a rear end of the first function expansion card ().

Connector

In a connector for a small circuit board, contacting means is formed independently of elastic means that provides contact pressure on the small circuit board when the edge portion of the small circuit board is fitted to the connector. The contacting means comprises for example an insulator film and electrical contacts corresponding to terminals of the plate object. The insulator has first and second surfaces and the electrical contacts are formed on the first surface. The elastic means is for example arranged within a housing of the connector. Within the housing, the second surface of the insulator is fixed on the elastic means, so that the electrical contacts are also arranged on the elastic means via the insulator film. When the edge portion of the small circuit board is accommodated within the housing, the elastic means gives the contact pressure to the edge portion of the small circuit board so that the electrical contacts are connected with the terminals of the small circuit board.

Connector for plate object with terminals

A connector is adapted to connect a small board ( ) inserted in a first direction (A ) and is provided with an elastic member ( ) for pressing opposite ends of the small board in a second direction (A ) when the small board is inserted into an insulator housing ( ). The small board is inserted into the housing to be faced to conductive contacts fixed to the housing. Upon insertion, the small board is positioned with respect to the contacts by means of the elastic member. Thereafter, the small board is rotated in a thickness direction around its part inserted into the housing to connect the small board and the contacts.

Connector having an alignment function for a small board to be connected thereto

In an electrical connector which has a first insulator (,), a first contact (,) supported by the first insulator, a second insulator (,) faced to the first insulator in a first direction, and a second contact (,) supported by the second insulator, the second insulator has a side wall defining a groove (,) extending along the first insulator to have a first and a second part arranged in a second direction (A,) perpendicular to the first direction. The first contact has a first contacting portion (,) inserted into the first part and carried towards the second part by relative movement between the first and the second insulators in the second direction. The second contact has a second contacting portion (,) being of a flat shape, placed in the second part, and supported by the side wall. The second contacting portion extends in a direction approximate to the second direction. When carried to the second part of the groove, the first contacting portion is brought into contact with the second contacting portion with an elastic force in a third direction (A,) perpendicular to the first and the second directions.

Low-profile and robust electrical connector

A card connector which permits insertion of a card from a side of an insulator thereof is provided. A protruded portion is formed on the bottom of a rear end of a slider movably accommodated with a hollow insulator. When the slider is moved in the direction of insertion of a card (miniature card) to bring a recessed terminal array portion of the card to a position exactly above a protruded terminal array portion of a circuit board, the protruded portion is caused to drop into a recess formed in a bottom wall of the hollow insulator to thereby incline the slider with respect to the direction of insertion of the card to fit the recessed terminal array portion of the miniature card on the protruded terminal array portion of the circuit board. The slider is urged against the bottom wall of the hollow insulator by a spring, and urged toward an insertion opening of the hollow insulator by another spring. An ejector button is arranged in the hollow insulator for returning the card to a level position.
