A printing apparatus comprises a conveyance control unit which controls conveyance of printing sheets so that a trailing edge of a preceding sheet as a printing sheet precedingly fed from the stacking unit and a leading edge of a succeeding sheet as a printing sheet succeedingly fed from the stacking unit overlap each other; and a skew correction unit which performs skew correction of the succeeding sheet while the succeeding sheet overlaps the preceding sheet by the conveyance control unit. The skew correction unit makes the leading edge of the succeeding sheet abut against the conveyance roller during a time from an end of a last line feed operation by the conveyance roller for printing on the preceding sheet by the printing unit to start of a next conveyance operation.

Printing apparatus and control method therefor

In a printing apparatus, a platen configured to support a sheet to be printed includes an ink receiver configured to receive ink discharged from a print head. The ink receiver includes a plurality of first ink grooves and a plurality of second ink grooves configured to guide the received ink, the second ink grooves having a tilt angle greater than that of the first ink grooves. The platen includes an absorber configured to absorb the ink received by the ink receiver, the absorber being arranged on a back side of the ink receiver.

Printing apparatus

The present invention provides a printing apparatus. The printing apparatus includes a feeding unit, a pair of rollers configured to nip a printing medium and to convey the printing medium fed by the feeding unit, a printing unit and a control unit. The control unit can execute successive overlapped conveyance in which the pair of rollers nip an overlapping portion between a trailing edge of a preceding printing medium and a leading edge of a succeeding printing medium and convey them. The control unit executes the successive overlapped conveyance at least on condition that printing of the preceding printing medium by the printing unit has ended.

An ink jet recording apparatus capable of landing an ink drop on an exact position on a recording medium is provided. The ink jet recording apparatus performs recording on a recording medium which has been subjected to application processing with a pretreatment liquid. The ink jet recording apparatus has an electrostatic belt which has a resistance layer formed on the surface thereof, and a power feed roller which imparts charges to the surface of the electrostatic belt. The recording head discharges ink to the surface of the recording medium when the back of the recording medium comes into contact with the surface of the electrostatic belt to which the charges have been imparted.

Ink jet recording apparatus having charged conveying belt

A rotary member support apparatus includes a rotary member configured to receive a force in a radial direction and having at a rotation center a cylindrical bearing portion, and a support shaft to be inserted into the bearing portion, wherein the support shaft is formed so as to have at least two protrusions including curved surfaces internally touching the bearing portion of the rotary member.

Recording apparatus, rotary member support apparatus, and drive transmission apparatus

Provided is a recording medium conveying mechanism including an endless center conveying belt and endless side conveying belts, the endless center conveying belt and the endless side conveying belts being looped over a driving roller to be driven by a motor, a driven roller and a tension roller. The center conveying belt is positioned in a center in a width direction of a recording medium to be conveyed, and the side conveying belts are positioned on opposite sides in a width direction of the center conveying belt, respectively. The center conveying belt includes a material with a high elastic modulus while the side conveying belts include a material with a low elastic modulus, and a biasing member for providing a tension to the center conveying belt and the side conveying belts is provided on a shaft of the tension roller.

Conveying mechanism and recording apparatus including the same

According to detection results obtained by a plurality of printing medium detection device, a printing medium is carried in while controlling an operation of pressing a pinch roller to be in contact with a conveying roller and of separating the pinch roller from the conveying roller and an operation of pressing a spur to be in contact with a eject roller and of separating the spur from the eject roller. Accordingly, it is made possible to carry the printing medium into the apparatus in a proper state even when the printing medium is a nonstandard-sized printing medium. Moreover, while effectively utilizing one driving source, a plurality of mechanism is independently controlled. Hence, accurately controlled flat-pass printing can be realized despite of the relatively small number of components.

Printing medium transferring apparatus

An image forming apparatus is featured with excellent operability of storage at the time of non-use, as well as excellent operability of charging the battery, in addition to such advantages as thin and battery-driven, and preferably suitable for portable use. A cradle provided for this image forming apparatus functions as a placement stand when an ink jet printer, which is provided with a battery charger mounted thereon, is inserted in the direction designated appropriately at the time of non-use. When the ink jet printer having the battery charger thus mounted thereon is contained in the cradle, the contact point portion of the battery charger and the contact terminal portion of the cradle are electrically connected. Therefore, the battery incorporated in the battery charger is charged when the AC adopter cable is inserted into the CDL-DCin jack of the cradle.

Image forming apparatus

A recording apparatus is provided in which a space can be secured on a desk without performing a troublesome operation, and penetration of dust or foreign matter into a main body can be prevented when the apparatus is not used, and a sheet jam caused by closing of a sheet-discharge-port cover does not occur when the apparatus is used. In the apparatus, a magnet unit is provided at a sheet feeding cover covering a sheet feeding opening, and a metal member is provided at a sheet-discharge-port cover for covering a sheet discharge port. By attraction of the metal member of the sheet-discharge-port cover by the magnet unit of the sheet feeding cover, and a locked state is provided, to provide a shell structure. Linked with opening of the sheet feeding cover, the sheet-discharge-port cover is automatically opened by its own weight. A DC jack is disposed at a right side of the printer main body, and an I/F (interface) connector is disposed within a detachable side cover.
