A body fat measurement device includes: a measurement unit for measuring a shape of a measurement subject's trunk area; a breathing estimation unit that detects a change over time in the measured trunk area shape and estimates the measurement subject's breathing based on the detected change; a breathing state determination unit that determines whether or not the estimated breathing of the measurement subject is in a state suited to measurement; a state output unit that outputs the estimated breathing state to the exterior in association with a result of the determination; and a fat mass calculation unit that calculates a trunk area fat mass using the body impedance measured by a body impedance measurement unit and a trunk area size based on the trunk area shape measured by the measurement unit.

Body fat measurement device

A fat mass measurement apparatus includes an area detection unit that detects a predetermined position in a measurement subject's trunk area and detecting a predetermined area in the trunk area using the detected position; an electrode position setting unit that sets, on the body surface at the predetermined area detected by the area detection unit, a plurality of positions along the vertical direction of the trunk area for measuring the body impedance; an impedance measurement unit that measures the body impedance by bringing the impedance measurement electrodes into contact with each of the plurality of positions that have been set; and an abdominal area fat mass calculation unit that calculates a fat volume at the predetermined area based on the body impedances at each of the plurality of positions measured by the impedance measurement and the size of the trunk area at the predetermined area.

Fat mass measurement apparatus

A body fat measurement device includes a plurality of electrodes including back area electrodes and upper limb electrodes, a body impedance measurement unit that measures a body impedance using the plurality of electrodes, a body composition information calculation unit that calculates a body fat mass based on the body impedance, a fitting belt for bringing the back area electrodes into contact with the surface of the measurement subject's back area in a pressurized state, and an upper limb unit that includes a gripping portion that can be gripped by the measurement subject's hand, the upper limb electrodes being provided in the gripping portion. The upper limb unit can be attached to and detached from the fitting belt.

The trunk area dimension measurement device includes a light reflection portion to be placed at a position of a navel of the measurement subject, a contact portion to be placed on a side surface of the measurement subject's trunk area, a support column having a contact detection unit that detects the contact with the contact portion and that extends in the vertical direction, a measurement bar that is supported pivotably about a first support point vertically with respect to the support column and that extends above the measurement subject's trunk area, an optical sensor that is held by the measurement bar positioned above the measurement subject's trunk area and that is held pivotably about a second support point so as to hang down in a gravity direction, and an angle sensor that is provided at either one of the first support point and the second support point.

Trunk area dimension measurement device and body fat measurement device

A body fat measurement device includes hand electrodes that contact both hands, back area electrodes that contact the surface of a trunk area of the back, foot electrodes that contact both feet, a trunk area width detection unit for measuring the width and depth of the trunk area, a body impedance measurement unit that measures the body impedance of a body using the multiple electrodes and a body fat mass calculation unit that calculates a body fat mass based on the body impedance and the width and depth of the trunk area. The back area electrodes that make contact with the surface of the back of the trunk area are provided in a fitting unit in an exposed state, as well as the trunk area width detection unit. Accordingly, a body fat measurement device can measure a body fat mass easily and accurately in a household or the like.

A body fat measurement device includes a trunk area dimension measurement unit in which is provided a trunk area dimension detection unit for detecting a dimension of a measurement subject's trunk area. The trunk area dimension measurement unit has a frame shape that can be disposed surrounding the measurement subject's trunk area, and includes a base portion whose position relative to the trunk area does not change in a state where the trunk area dimension measurement unit is disposed surrounding the trunk area, and a mobile portion that is attached in a movable state to the base portion and whose position relative to the trunk area can change in a state where the trunk area dimension measurement unit is disposed surrounding the trunk area. The trunk area dimension detection unit includes at least a non-contact range sensor provided in the mobile portion.

A visceral fat measuring device is capable of simply and noninvasively measuring a visceral fat amount, by calculating the visceral fat amount based on trunk measurement information, impedance information of the entire trunk, and impedance information of a surface layer of the trunk. The visceral fat measuring device includes: a belt to be wound around the trunk that has a pressing member with electrodes E to be pressed onto the dorsal side of a person subjected to measurement; a pair of belt portions respectively fixed to both sides of the pressing member; a buckle for connecting the pair of belt portions; and indicators on the pair of belt portions to show distances from a reference position of the belt.

Visceral fat measuring device

A body fat measurement device includes a back area electrode group support unit including back area electrodes arranged to contact a back area of a measurement subject, a trunk area dimension measurement unit that detects the width and depth of a trunk area of the measurement subject, a position detection unit that detects a relative positional relationship between the back area electrode group support unit and the trunk area dimension measurement unit, an electrode selection unit that selects specific electrodes, placed in contact with the back area at an area that corresponds to the location of the navel of the measurement subject, from a plurality of electrodes included in a trunk area electrode group, based on the position information detected by the position detection unit, and a body impedance measurement unit that measures a body impedance of the measurement subject using the selected back area electrodes.

In an abdominal fat measuring device that is a health managing device, vertical and horizontal widths of the abdomen of a subject are measured, and an ellipse defined by such widths is defined as an outer shape ellipse. The abdominal fat measuring device stores in advance an image representing the subcutaneous fat of the abdominal back side as an additional image in association with a proportion of the visceral fat mass and the subcutaneous fat mass. In the abdominal fat measuring device, the corresponding image is extracted from the stored additional images from the measured proportion of the visceral fat mass and the subcutaneous fat mass of the subject, added to the outer shape ellipse, and then a figure representing the measured fat free mass, visceral fat mass, and subcutaneous fat mass is drawn and displayed in the outer shape ellipse.

Health managing device

A body fat measurement device includes: hand electrodes that make contact with both hands; back area electrodes that makes contact with the surface of the back area side of the trunk area; foot electrodes that make contact with both feet; a body impedance measurement unit that measures a body impedance in a body using these multiple electrodes; and a body fat mass calculation unit that calculates a body fat mass based on the body impedance measured by the body impedance measurement unit. The foot electrodes that make contact with both feet are provided on a platform unit in an exposed state, and the hand electrodes that make contact with both hands and the back area electrodes that make contact with the surface of the back area side of the trunk area are all provided on a fitting unit in an exposed state.

A body fat measurement device includes multiple electrodes, a trunk area width detection unit for measuring a trunk area width and a trunk area depth, a body impedance measurement unit that measures a body impedance of a body using the multiple electrodes, and a body fat mass calculation unit that calculates a body fat mass based on the measured body impedance and the trunk area width and trunk area depth. A frame-shaped fitting unit in which the trunk area width detection unit is provided and that is capable of being disposed so as to surround a measurement subject's trunk area can be mounted on and removed from a platform unit in which foot electrodes are provided, and is stored within the platform unit during a stored state.

To provide a trunk width measuring unit capable of improving reliability of measurement precision, and a visceral fat measuring device. The trunk width measuring unit is provided with a first contact portion to be brought into contact with an upper surface of a trunk of a user in a supine position, a second contact portion to be brought into contact with one of side surfaces of the trunk, a third contact portion to be brought into contact with the other side surface of the trunk, and a trunk width calculating unit for calculating vertical width and horizontal width of the trunk from height from an upper surface of a bed to a contact position of the first contact portion and a distance between the second contact portion and the third contact portion.

Trunk width measuring unit and visceral fat measuring device

A trunk width measuring unit including a first contact portion attached movably in the vertical direction relative to a unit main body, the first contact portion to be brought into contact with an upper surface of a trunk of a subject, second and third contact portions attached movably in the horizontal direction relative to the unit main body, a vertical width detection encoder for detecting a lowering distance of the first contact portion from an original position on the upper side of the trunk of the user to a contact point with the upper surface of the trunk, and a horizontal width detection encoder attached movably in the horizontal direction relative to the unit main body by the same distance as a moving distance of the second contact portion, the horizontal width detection encoder detecting a moving distance of the third contact portion relative to the second contact portion.
