A metal-made carrier body is provided for an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst. The carrier body includes a cylindrical metal casing and a metal-made multi-layered composite body. The composite body has been obtained by superposing one over the ther at least one planar metal band made of a thin metal sheet and at least one corrugated metal band made of another thin metal sheet and then rolling both the bands together into a spiral form, so that the composite body defines many network-patterned gas flow passages along the central axis thereof. The composite body is enclosed within the metal casing. A gas-permeable insert is centrally and axially embedded within the multi-layered composite body of the planar metal band and the corrugated metal band.

Metal-made carrier body for exhaust gas cleaning catalyst

A structure in which a small-diameter thin metal pipe is connected at one end to a flange coupling. The pipe has an end portion and an outer turned-up portion formed at the end of the end portion of the pipe. The structure includes a metal sleeve inserted at one end between the end portion and turned-up portion of the pipe. The sleeve is longer than the turned-up portion. The metal sleeve and the end portion and turned-up portion of the pipe as they are inserted into a hole in the flange coupling and fixedly welded together along at least the edge of the hole.

Structure in which a small-diameter thin metal tube is fixed at one end

An assembly comprising a thin-walled metal tubing coupled to a flange. The tubing is used as a passage for supplying oil or air, and has a small diameter. A short metal cylinder having a wall thickness larger than that of the tubing is fitted over the tubing. The tubing and the cylinder are welded together at their front ends. The cylinder to which the tubing is welded is inserted in a hole formed in the flange. The outer surface of the cylinder is welded to the fringe of the hole.

A connector head construction for a high-pressure fuel injection tube comprises a metal tube having a relatively large wall thickness and small diameter and including an abacus-bead-shaped connector head having a front outer peripheral pressor wall for engagement with a mating connector seat and a rear outer peripheral pressure-bearing wall for engagement with a fastening nut on the metal tube. The connector head includes an integral gradual slant surface extending as a skirt from a top of said pressure-bearing wall at an angle ranging from 2.degree. to 5.degree. to the axis of metal tube and having a length equal to at least an outside diameter of the metal tube.
