A method for managing image data in an automotive lighting device. This method includes the steps of providing an image pattern, dividing the image pattern in rows or columns of pixels, and providing, for each row pattern, a plurality of linear segments. Also included is providing a breaking pixel, splitting a segment by the breaking pixel, compressing the data of the linear segments and sending the compressed data to the light module. The invention also provides an automotive lighting device for performing the steps of such a method.

A method for managing image data in an automotive lighting device. This method includes the steps of providing an image pattern, dividing the image pattern in rows or columns of pixels, and providing for each row pattern, a plurality of linear segments, each linear segment is characterized by two values. The data of the linear segments is compressed, and the compressed data is sent to the light module. The invention also provides an automotive lighting device for performing the steps of such a method.

The invention relates to a method for managing image data in a motor vehicle lighting system. The lighting system comprises at least one lighting module intended to project light beams generated on the basis of data relating to the selection of at least one image, each image being defined by a matrix containing a plurality of horizontal or vertical rows of pixels, wherein each pixel is characterized by a numerical value related to a light intensity of the pixel, said method determining whether the analyzed pixel is regarded as a significant inflection point of the image such that said analyzed pixel is transmitted to at least one lighting module so that same can project a resulting image. A method for managing image data in an automotive lighting device includes the steps of providing an image pattern, dividing the image pattern in rows or columns of pixels, and calculating a first gradient value related to the relation between the numeric value of a first pixel and the numeric value of an adjacent pixel. Also included is checking, for each pixel, if the difference between the corresponding gradient value and the first gradient fulfills one of a first or second condition, defining linear segments, compressing the data of the linear segments and sending the compressed data to the light module. The invention also provides an automotive lighting device for performing the steps of such a method.

A method for correcting a first light pattern provided by a lighting device with a matrix of light sources. The method includes steps of providing some resolution data of the light sources, simulating a test map of the light pattern using the resolution data, and simulating distortion maps of the test map. Each distortion map is associated to a distortion factor. Also included is obtaining a real distorted light pattern, comparing the real distorted light pattern with the distortion maps, finding a distortion map which is the most similar to the real distorted map and applying a correction factor to correct the real distorted light pattern, thus obtaining a corrected light pattern. The correction factor is related to the distortion factor of the distortion map which is the most similar to the real distorted map.
