A system for testing a radar under test is provided. The system comprises an antenna array with a plurality of antenna elements, a plurality of transceivers downstream to the plurality of antenna elements and a processing unit. In this context, the processing unit is configured to communicate the radar under test by transmitting and/or receiving a two dimensional test pattern and to compare the two dimensional test pattern with a reference pattern.

The invention regards a radar calibration system and a method for moving a radar calibration target along the predefined movement path. The system comprises a radar calibration target, having a reflector of a known radar cross section, the reflector having a discontinuous surface mounted on and at least partially surrounding a drive unit for three dimensionally moving the radar calibration target based on control signals. The calibration target further has a localisation unit for determining a position of the radar calibration target. A control unit is configured to generate the control signals based on position information received from the localisation unit and a desired movement path and the movement of the radar calibration target is then executed by the drive unit based on the control signals.

Radar calibration system and method for moving a radar calibration target along a desired movement path

A radar target simulator for simulating a radar target is disclosed. The radar target simulator comprises a display module and an input module via which a user of the radar target simulator is enabled to define a target to be simulated. The radar target simulator also comprises a processing module that is connected with the display module and the input module in a signal transmitting manner. The display module and the processing module together provide a graphical user interface for the user of the radar target simulator. The graphical user interface provides a two-dimensional representation of an at least two-dimensional space. The processing module receives at least one input signal from the input module based on an input of the user. The input of the user is associated with input coordinates in the two-dimensional representation. The processing module processes the at least one input signal, thereby generating a symbol of the target defined. The display module illustrates the symbol generated in the two-dimensional representation provided by the graphical user interface.

Radar target simulator

A method for training a radar device using a training system is disclosed. The radar device comprises a first machine learning module to be trained. The training system comprises at least one signal generator, a signal analyzer and at least one controller being connected to both the at least one signal generator and the at least one signal analyzer. The controller causes the at least one signal generator to generate at least one wireless test signal based on an initial set of parameters corresponding to at least one object being located in the field of view of the radar device. The wireless test signal is received by the radar device and a feedback signal is generated by the radar device based on the test signal. The feedback signal is forwarded to the analyzer unit, and the set of parameters is automatically adapted by the controller based on the feedback signal. Moreover, a training system for training a radar device is disclosed.
