In an example, a method includes obtaining, in a probing Wi-Fi device a transmit opportunity (TXOP) on a Wi-Fi channel. The method also includes transmitting a probe packet from the probing Wi-Fi device to a receiving Wi-Fi device during the TXOP with a first antenna. The method includes receiving first feedback responsive to transmitting the probe packet with the first antenna. The method also includes transmitting the probe packet from the probing Wi-Fi device to the receiving Wi-Fi device during the TXOP with a second antenna. The method includes receiving second feedback responsive to transmitting the probe packet with the second antenna. The method also includes setting, by the probing Wi-Fi device, a transmission parameters set and a selected antenna based at least in part on the first feedback or the second feedback.

Rate and antenna selection using single TXOP

A device (e.g., an IoT device) includes a first radio, and a memory device accessible to the first radio. The memory device is configured to store a fingerprinting feature for a specific transmitter device. A second radio and a processor are also included. The process is coupled to the first and second radios. The first radio is configured to extract a fingerprinting feature of a first received wireless signal, determine that the extracted feature matches the fingerprinting feature stored in the storage device, and responsive to the determination that the extracted feature matches the feature stored in the storage device, cause the second radio to transition from a lower power state to a higher power state of operation and continue to receive the incoming signal.

Open loop wake-up radio based on transmitter fingerprinting

In an embodiment, a method includes receiving a logical address from a primary device and determining an address header based on the logical address. The method also includes determining an offset value based on the address header and applying the offset value to a first portion of the logical address to create an offset address portion. The method further includes generating a physical address that includes the address header and the offset address portion and accessing a physical resource using the physical address.

Address space mapping

A device includes a BLUETOOTH low energy (BLE) link layer (LL) controller configured to maintain links of a link cluster between the device and one or more connected devices that share parameters associated with the link cluster and process packets associated with the links at a LL. The links of the link cluster are established according to a BLE communication standard. The parameters include coordination parameters for connection events on the links and synchronization parameters for packet transmission in the connection events. The device further includes BLE physical link (PHY) interfaces coupled to the BLE LL controller and configured to exchange the packets in the connection events on the links, interface with the BLE LL controller, and process the packets at a PHY layer according to the parameters.

Over-the-air BLE link-cluster operation

A device (e.g., a BLUETOOTH device) includes memory and one or more processors coupled to the memory. The one or more processors are configured to implement a BLUETOOTH host, a BLUETOOTH host-controller interface, and a BLUETOOTH controller. A technique for power aware event scheduling including receiving, from a wireless access point, an indication of a scheduled reference event, determining, for an application event, an amount of time to generate data for a wireless uplink transmission associated with the application event, receiving timing information, the timing information indicating an amount of time to divide the generated data into data frames, determining an adjusted time based on the amount of time to generate data, the received timing information, and the scheduled reference event, triggering the application event at the adjusted time, and transmitting the data frames based on the scheduled reference event.

Power aware event scheduling

Techniques for determining an angle-of-arrival of a wireless transmission are provided, including receiving, with a first antenna, at least a first portion of a wireless transmission, determining when a second portion of the wireless transmission will be received, switching to the second antenna to receive the second portion of the wireless transmission, determining an angle of arrival of the wireless transmission based on the first portion and the second portion of the wireless transmission, and outputting the angle of arrival of the wireless transmission.

A processor in a device is configured to access a power policy for the device, where the power policy indicates a relationship between power consumption by the device and another performance variable of the device. The processor is also configured to produce an operating point for the device based at least in part on the power policy. The apparatus includes a second communication interface for communicating with a network gateway device. The control module is configured to provide a second request for wired uplink resources to the gateway device via the second communication interface based on the first request for wireless uplink resources. The second request for wired uplink resources is related to uplink resources of a wired uplink channel of the gateway device.

A network device includes a wireless transceiver configured to establish a bi-directional communication channel with a network gateway. The network device also includes a visible light communication (VLC) interface configured to establish a visible light communication channel with a configurator for the network gateway. The network device further includes a controller configured to operate with the configurator to execute out-of-band (OOB) provisioning of the network device for the network gateway, wherein data communicated on the visible light communication channel includes a portion of information related to bootstrap provisioning the network device with the network gateway using the device provisioning protocol (DPP).
