Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a disk area isolation method, where the method includes: receiving, by a file system, a request for access to a file, where the access includes file reading or file writing; determining a to-be-accessed data block according to the request; accessing a physical area corresponding to the data block on a disk; identifying, according to a time consumed for accessing the physical area, whether the data block is located in a low-speed area on the disk; and isolating the data block that is identified to be located in the low-speed area.

A method for constructing a network topology is applied in a streaming delivery system. The streaming delivery system includes: a center server (CS-P), an edge server (ES-P), a request scheduling server (RRS-P), and a client. The disclosed embodiments utilizes the upload capabilities of the client to transmit a part of streaming data, thus consuming fewer center server resources. By constructing the network topology, the disclosed embodiments enable the client to obtain a part of streaming data from other clients, reduces the load capability requirements for the server, and ensures that a streaming delivery network may provide streaming live services with higher bandwidths and better quality.

An embodiment of the present invention disclose a method for fast forward/backward play of video data includes: obtaining fast forward/backward index information that meets a fast forward/backward play request from a pre-generated fast forward/backward sequence index file according to the fast forward/backward play request from a client; and obtaining video data that meets the fast forward/backward play request from a pre-generated fast forward/backward sequence file according to the index information and transmitting the video data to the client via a network. An embodiment of the present invention also discloses a streaming server. With the method and streaming server provided by the present invention, the fast forward/backward video data reading efficiency of the streaming server may be improved.

A method and an apparatus for software upgrade in a digital television receiving device are disclosed. The method includes multiplexing service software into a transport stream according to a predefined protocol, extracting by the digital television receiving device data of the service software from the transport stream and storing the data, restarting the digital television receiving device, so that digital television receiving device software and the service software may obtain addresses of interface functions of the opposite party, and updating by the digital television receiving device software and the service software, default addresses of the interface functions of the service software and the digital television receiving device software according to the obtained addresses. With the invention, the digital television receiving device software and the service software may be independent from each other, and may be upgraded separately.
