The disclosure provides a phosphor composed of (MLaEu)Si(BM)NO, wherein Mis Ca, Sr, or combinations thereof. Mis Ga, In, or combinations thereof. 0&#x3c;a&#x3c;1.00, 0&#x2266;b&#x3c;0.05, 0&#x3c;c&#x2266;0.04, and a+b+c=1.00, 0&#x2266;d&#x2266;1.00, 0&#x2266;e&#x2266;1.00, d+e=1.00, and b+d&#x2260;0, and 0.001&#x3c;x&#x3c;0.60. The invention provides a white light illumination device including an ultraviolet excitation light source and an ultraviolet excitable aluminosilicate phosphor. The ultraviolet excitable aluminosilicate phosphor has a formula as (M,Re)AlSiO:D, wherein M is Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba or combination thereof. In addition, Re is Y, La, Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Ce, Dy, Yb, Er, Sc, Mn, Zn, Cu, Ni, Lu or combination thereof, while 0&#x3c;a, b, c, d, 2a+3b+4c=2d, and 0&#x2266;x&#x2266;a. The aluminosilicate phosphor emits blue or blue-green light under the excitation of ultraviolet light, and the aluminosilicate phosphor may further collocate with different color phosphors to provide a white light illumination device.

White light illumination device

The invention provides a red phosphor composed of M(EuLaBi)SiO, wherein M is Ca, Sr, Ba, or combinations thereof, 0&#x3c;x&#x3c;1, and 0&#x3c;y&#x3c;1. Under excitation of blue light or ultraviolet light, the red phosphor emits red light having a major emission peak of about 613 nm. The red phosphor of the invention may be collocated with green and blue phosphors to provide a white light illumination device.
