A device for multiple-quality level video processing includes a primary tap configured to receive prime-quality video content from a source and to provide the prime-quality video content to a primary path and to a secondary tap. The primary tap may be operable in a prime-quality mode. The secondary tap may be disposed after the primary tap and may be coupled to a number of secondary paths. One or more dithering modules may be disposed after the primary tap. The dithering module(s) may be configured to convert the prime-quality video content provided by the primary tap to lower-bit precision and/or lower pixel-rate video content for use in one or more of the secondary paths.

Parallel pipelines for multiple-quality level video processing

A television on a chip (TVOC) system that provides a cost effective approach for providing television functionality on a single integrated circuit chip is disclosed. A TVOC includes the functionality necessary to receive and display television signals in a variety of input and output formats. A TVOC can be used in set-top boxes for cable and satellite television, or directly within a television. All functionality provided can be provided on a single integrated circuit. TVOC includes a data transport module, an IF demodulator, a digital audio engine, an analog audio engine, a digital video engine, and an analog video engine. The TVOC also includes three sets of interfaces including output interfaces, control interfaces and ancillary interfaces. Further features and embodiments provide enhanced functionality and increased efficiencies.

Described herein is a method and system for video format conversion. Aspects of the current invention may convert decoded video data from 4:2:2 format to 4:4:4 format. Aspects of the current invention may also convert decoded video data from 4:2:0 format to 4:4:4 format. Aspects of the current invention may further convert decoded video data from 4:2:0 format to 4:2:2 format. Aspects of the current invention may provide a region-aware conversion system that monitors the edges of mosaic windows in order to apply proper boundary conditions during the conversion process.

Method and system for video format conversion

Provided is a system and method including a number of routers structured and arranged to route one or more video sources to any of one or more destinations. Each of the number of routers including a plurality of input and output ports and each input port being connectable to any one or more of corresponding output ports via data-paths. The datapaths are connectable to a corresponding one of the one or more destinations. The apparatus includes a testing output port selectably connectable to any of the one or more output data-paths. The testing output port is configured to connect a selected one of the one or more data-paths to a data collection device. The testing output port is configured to facilitate analysis of at least one from the group including (a) one or more of the data paths and (b) one or more of the video sources associated with the selected data-path.

Method and system for rerouteable cyclic redundancy check sum (CRC) for different sources

Provided is a method and system for performing color look-up table (CLUT) and gamma correction for video pixel data. A system includes a memory configured for storing CLUT parameters and gamma correction parameters therein. Also included is an input matrix coupled to the memory and configured to receive first and second type pixel data. The memory receives the first type pixel as an address to the stored CLUT parameters and receives the second type pixel data as an address to the stored gamma correction parameters.

Method and system color look-up table (CLUT) random access memory arrangement for CLUT and gamma correction application

Provided is a system and method for performing CRC analysis in a video test bench. An exemplary system includes a memory configured for storing a required number representative of the data fields to be analyzed. A module is coupled at least indirectly to the memory and configured for (i) receiving an input data stream, (ii) performing cyclic redundancy check (CRC) analysis of the received data stream, and (iii) producing an output representative of an actual number of received data fields analyzed. The input data stream includes synchronization markers defining boundaries of each of the received data fields. Next, a comparator is configured for (i) comparing the required number and the actual number and (ii) producing a disabling signal when the actual number matches the required number. A detector is coupled to the comparator and configured for (i) receiving the input data stream and sensing a presence of the synchronization markers, (ii) receiving the disabling signal, and (iii) disabling the CRC module when the disabling signal is received.
