A variable optical attenuator ( ) includes a cover ( ), a housing ( ), an optical module ( ), a reciprocating means ( ), a filter ( ) and a fixer ( ). The filter has a varying optical density gradient and is attached to the reciprocating means. The reciprocating means includes a carrier ( ) mounted to a rotatable screw rod ( ) and a stabilizing mechanism ( ) mounted on the carrier. When the screw rod is rotated, the carrier with the filter mounted on it moves toward one side of the housing or another. The stabilizing mechanism contacts the housing to prevent the carrier and the filter from rotating with the screw rod. Optical signals coming from the input optical fiber ( ) pass through a collimator ( ), through the filter, and are reflected by the reflector ( ) to pass again through the filter and collimator for output in the output optical fiber ( ).

Variable optical attenuator

An RF electrical connector comprises an insulative housing with a low-profile body section, a conductive shell enclosing the housing, a fixed contact and a switch contact. Both the switch contact and the fixed contact are retained in the housing in a normally-closed configuration and electrically contact with one another. The switch contact comprises a retaining body and a folded contacting arm extending therefrom which has a first portion extending upward from the retaining body, a curved portion extending from the first portion and providing enough resilience during mating and a second portion extending downward from the curved portion. The second portion comprises an apex for contacting a plug contact of a mating plug connector and a contacting end for contacting the fixed contact.

Radio frequency electrical connector

A multi-port modular jack assembly includes an insulative housing defining four ports, four insulative inserts each mounted with a set of eight contacts and fixedly received in a corresponding port, a grounding/shielding shell integrally formed with a front member mounted to the housing to enclose a top, right and left wall of the housing and a rear member bent to engage with the front member and enclose a rear side of the housing. The grounding/shielding has upper and lower grounding tabs projecting rearwardly and forwardly, respectively. The grounding/shielding shell further has two housing engaging tabs engaging with the right and left side walls of the housing at different levels relative to the bottom wall of the housing.

Multi-port modular jack assembly and method for making the same

An electronic card connector consists of an upper housing member and a lower housing member fixedly connected together. A number of contacts are fixed to the lower housing member. Each contact has a contact portion for electrically engaging with a card inserted into the connector and a tail portion for being soldered to a printed circuit board on which the connector is mounted. The upper housing member forms a number of cantilevered arms with enlarged free ends biasing the card inserted into the connector toward the contact portions of the contacts to ensure a positive engagement between the card and the contacts.

Electronic card connector having card-biasing means

An electrical connector assembly (10) includes a universal bracket (12) for retaining at least a group of audio jack units (17) therein. Each audio jack unit (17) includes a plurality of signal contacts (22) and at least a grounding contact (24) thereof for mounting to a mother board (100) on which the assembly (10) is seated. A grounding clip (26) is retainably attached to the corresponding audio jack unit (17) under the condition that one spring finger (38) thereof contacts the grounding contact (24) and an engagement tang (46) thereof projects out of the front surface (49) of the universal bracket (12) for efficient engagement with the front panel of the computer case which the bracket (12) confronts.
