Provided is a biological sample imaging device and a biological sample imaging method that are capable of disposing a sufficient number of large-sized particles in a biological sample so as to be moderately dispersed within an imaging range. The biological sample imaging method includes: a first step of introducing a biological sample containing particles into a liquid flow channel; a second step of causing the biological sample introduced into the liquid flow channel to flow in a forward direction; a third step of causing the biological sample to flow in a reverse direction after the second step; and an imaging step of taking, in an imaging cell, images of the particles contained in the biological sample that remains in the liquid flow channel after the third step.

Provided are a cell imaging device and a cell imaging method that can shorten the time period of taking images of cells in a liquid sample, compared with conventional techniques. This cell imaging device introduces a urine sample containing cells into an internal space of a sample cell, moves at least one of the sample cell and an objective lens in a second direction while at least one of the sample cell and the objective lens is moved in a first direction, the second direction being different from the first direction, and takes, at a plurality of imaging positions, images of cells contained in the urine sample by means of an imaging unit.

A cell imaging apparatus captures images of cells contained in a liquid specimen comprising: an image capture unit including an objective lens, specimen cells each including an inner space which is capable of holding a liquid specimen and which is elongated in one direction, the specimen cells arranged such that the inner spaces are aligned in a row in a longitudinal direction of the inner spaces, a drive unit that moves at least one of: a) one or more specimen cells; and b) the objective lens; and a controller that controls the drive unit to move at least one of: a) one or more specimen cells; and b) the objective lens in the longitudinal direction and controls the image capture unit to capture images of cells contained in a liquid specimen held in the inner space of each of the specimen cells at multiple image capture positions.
