A curable coating composition is provided having multi-functionalized acrylic copolymer and silicone imine resin curing agents. The acrylic copolymer of the curable coating composition has, in polymerized form, epoxy functionalized groups and cure compatibility groups and the silicone imine forms an amino-functional silicone in the presence of water. The coating compositions are useful in the field of superior weatherable and durable coatings and are useful to replace isocyanate-containing polyurethane based coatings. Also provided are coated articles produced from the curable composition.

Weatherable and durable coating compositions

The instant invention provides cross-linkable coating compositions, process for producing the same, and substrates coated therewith. The cross-linkable coating composition comprises: (a) polyaldehyde, or acetal or hemiacetal thereof; (b) an acid catalyst having pKa of less than 6; (c) a liquid media; (d) an acrylic polycarbamate comprising at least an average of 2.0 carbamate functional groups, wherein said polycarbamate has a glass transition (Tg) of less than 25&#xb0; C.; and (e) one or more fillers having a pH in the range of equal to or less than 9 and/or one or more pigments having a pH in the range of equal to or less than 9, and/or one or more additives having a pH in the range of equal to or less than 9, wherein said composition has a curing temperature in the range of less than 70&#xb0; C.

Cross-linkable coating composition and method of producing the same

A coating system comprising an epoxy coating layer prepared from an epoxy formulation which comprises an epoxy resin; a curing agent with no more than 4.5 wt % free amine based on a weight solids of the curing agent; and an adjacent layer prepared from a non-isocyanate polyurethane formulation wherein the epoxy formulation and/or non-isocyanate polyurethane formulation optionally further comprise one or more additives selected from the group consisting of solvent, reactive diluent, plasticizer, pigment, filler; rheology modifiers, dispersants, surfactants, UV stabilizers, and corrosion inhibitors is provided. Also provided are a method of applying a multi-layer coating system and an article comprising a coating system.

A two-part moisture curable coating compositions capable of forming polyurethane-polysiloxane networks is provided. The coating compositions which are useful in marine antifouling coatings provide a two-part moisture curable composition comprising: (a) a first part comprising at least one multifunctional polyol; (b) a second part comprising: (i) at least one polysiloxane polymer with at least two isocyanate or mercapto functional groups and (ii) at least one isocyanate functional organic compound; and (c) solvent. Also provided are methods of coating substrates with the curable composition and articles produced from such coated substrates.

Siloxane-urethane foul release coatings

A two-package moisture curable composition is provided. The composition comprises a first part comprising at least one silane terminated polyurethane and a second part comprising at least one silanol terminated polysiloxane; wherein the silane terminated polyurethane based polymer has at least one end group of the general formula: &#x2014;A&#x2014;(CH)m-SiR(OR), where A is a urethane or urea linkage group, Ris selected from Calkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, aminoalkyl, aryl and (meth)acryloxyalkyl groups, Ris each substituted or unsubstituted Calkyl or C-Caryl groups, m is an integer from 1 to 60 and n is an integer from 0 to 1; wherein the silane terminated polyurethane is prepared using natural oil polyols and their derivatives; and wherein the composition, after moisture cured, forms a surface whose water contact angle is larger than 101&#xb0;. The composition is suitable for applications in antifouling coatings which afford low surface energy and improved mechanical performance.
