Circuitry for determining an impedance of an electrochemical cell comprising at least one first electrode and a second electrode, the circuitry comprising: drive circuitry configured to apply a stimulus to the electrochemical cell; sense circuitry configured to measure a response of the electrochemical cell to the stimulus; and processing circuitry configured to: determine an estimated transfer function of the electrochemical cell based on the stimulus and the response; determine a score for the estimated transfer function; and adjust the stimulus or circuitry used to measure the response based on the score.

Electrochemical cell characterisation

A method of cough detection in a headset, the method comprising: receiving a first signal from an external transducer of the headset; receiving a second signal from an in-ear transducer of the headset; and detecting a cough of a user of the headset based on the first and second signals.

Cough detection

This application relates to audio driving circuitry (), and in particular to audio driving circuitry for outputting first and second audio driving signals for driving a stereo audio load (), which may be a stereo audio load of an accessory apparatus () removably coupled to the audio driving circuitry in use. A load monitor () is provided for monitoring to monitor, from a monitoring node (), an indication of a common mode return current passing through a common return path, together with an indication of a common mode component of the first and second audio driving signals and to determine an impedance characteristic of the stereo audio load. The load monitor () can provide dynamic monitoring of any significant change in load impedance. In some embodiments the load monitor () comprises an adaptive filter () which adapts a parameter of the filter which is related to the load impedance so as to determine the indication of load impedance.

Load detection

An audio system receives an input signal and, if the input signal has a sparse representation in the frequency domain, comprising components at at least one frequency of interest, the input signal is filtered in at least one band pass filter, such that only components at the or each frequency of interest are passed to an output. The operation is able in some case to analyze the input signal to determine whether the input signal has a sparse representation in the frequency domain.

Audio test mode

A signal converting system has a multi-segment digital to analog converter coupled to an error shaping loop. A control value is received at a vector processor that indicates a number N of elements that are to be selected from a vector having M elements. The elements of the vector are sorted into a bitonic sequence and separated into a larger value group and a smaller value group using a bitonic split. Only the larger value group is sorted into an ordered sequence with repeated bitonic splits when the control value is less than M/2, and N largest elements are selected from the ordered sequence. Only the smaller value group is sorted into an ordered sequence with repeated bitonic splits when the control value is greater than M/2, and N&#x2212;M/2 largest elements are selected from the ordered sequence.

Area efficient selector circuit

The objective of this invention is to provide a type of data processing device and a type of data recording/reproduction device that can restart data write processing correctly from an interruption position after data write processing on a recording medium is interrupted. When write is interrupted, prescribed information that indicates the tail of the data written before said interruption is obtained from the written data. When write is restarted, first, data read processing is started. From the read data, the tail of the write data before said interruption is determined based on said obtained information. Then, data write processing is restarted and connected to said determined tail of the write data. In write clock signal generating part (), write clock signal CKlocked to the phase of read clock signal CKis generated. Consequently, it is possible to suppress discontinuity in the connection of write in company with switching from read processing to write processing.
