The invention relates to a test chamber and to a method for operating a test chamber for conditioning air, in particular a temperature control chamber, a climate chamber or the like, the test chamber comprising a temperature-insulated test space, which can be sealed from an environment and serves to hold test material, and a temperature control device for controlling the temperature of the test space, the temperature control device being configured to establish a temperature in a temperature range of −50° C. to +180° C. within the test space, the temperature control device having a heating feature and a cooling feature with a cooling circuit with a refrigerant, a heat exchanger in the test space, a compressor, a condenser and an expansion member, the refrigerant being a hydrocarbon or a refrigerant mixture of hydrocarbons, the test chamber being provided with a machine room physically separated from the test space, the cooling circuit with the compressor being at least partially disposed in the machine room. The test chamber comprises a ventilation system having a detector with at least one gas sensor for detecting refrigerant in the test space, the ventilation system comprising a fan and an exhaust duct, the exhaust duct being connected to the test space in such a manner that the fan can transport air from the test space into the exhaust duct, the fan comprising a fan motor and a fan impeller, the fan motor being disposed in an air-tight enclosure, or the exhaust duct being connected to the test space and the machine room in such a manner that the one fan can transport air from the machine room and the test space into the exhaust duct.

Test chamber and method

A temperature chamber for conditioning air includes a temperature-insulated space which receives test material, and a temperature control device for controlling the temperature of the test space. The temperature control device allows a temperature in a range of &#x2212;50&#xb0; C. to +180&#xb0; C. to be established within the space, and has a cooling device including a cooling circuit with a refrigerant, a heat exchanger, a compressor, a condenser, and an expansion element. A jet device is connected to a low-pressure side of the cooling circuit downstream of the heat exchanger and upstream of the compressor, a first bypass is connected to a high-pressure side of the cooling circuit downstream of the compressor, and the refrigerant is suppliable to the jet device from the high-pressure side via the first bypass as a driving fluid.

Temperature chamber and method

A method for conditioning air in a test space of a test chamber which receives test material. A temperature in a range of &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. to +180&#xb0; C. is established within the test space with a cooling device. The cooling device includes a cooling circuit with a refrigerant, a heat exchanger, a compressor, a condenser and an expansion element. An internal heat exchanger of the cooling circuit is connected to a high-pressure side of the cooling circuit upstream of the expansion element and downstream of the condenser and to a low-pressure side of the cooling circuit upstream of the compressor and downstream of the heat exchanger and is used to cool the refrigerant of the high-pressure side. A zeotropic refrigerant is used and the internal heat exchanger is used to cool the refrigerant of the high-pressure side to lower an evaporation temperature at the expansion element.

Air conditioning method and device

A method for conditioning a fluid in a temperature-insulated test space and a test space of a test chamber for receiving test materials. A cascading cooling device creates a particular temperature range within the test space, and the cooling device has a first cooling circuit including a cascading heat exchanger, a first compressor, a condenser and a first expanding element, and a second cooling circuit including a heat exchanger, a second compressor, the cascading heat exchanger and a second expanding element The cascading heat exchanger is cooled by the first cooling circuit, the heat exchanger is cooled by a bypass passing through the heat exchanger and bridging the cascading heat exchanger, the first compressor is turned off, and a first refrigerant is conducted and condensed in a gaseous state in the cascading heat exchanger on a low-pressure side of the bypass.

A refrigerant for a cooling device including a cooling circuit with at least one heat exchanger, the refrigerant undergoing a phase transition in the heat exchanger, the refrigerant being a refrigerant mixture composed of a mass fraction of carbon dioxide, a mass fraction of pentafluoroethane, a mass fraction of difluoromethane and a mass fraction of at least one other component, wherein the mass fraction of carbon dioxide in the refrigerant mixture is 28 to 51 mass percent, the mass fraction of pentafluoroethane being 14.5 to 32 mass percent, the mass fraction of difluoromethane being 14.5 to 38 mass percent, the other component being fluoromethane.
