The invention relates to a motor vehicle master cylinder (). More specifically, the invention relates to a piston () of the master cylinder which has a first indentation () and a second indentation (), which indentations are formed upstream of a port () of the piston. The first indentation and the second indentation delimit a space within which hydraulic brake fluid can be stored so that it can be tapped off by an auxiliary braking device of the E.S.P. type.

A master cylinder () having a bore () fitted with at least one piston () and at least one seal (). The seal () is partially stiffened by a reinforcement member (). In order to retain the piston () in the bore () a groove () is located on a circumference of the piston () against which the sealing member () bears with the piston () in a rest position to retain the piston () in bore ().

This master cylinder comprises a body () defining a primary pressure chamber () and a secondary pressure chamber (), separated by an axially movable piston (), the so-called secondary piston; means () for the hydraulic connection of the primary pressure chamber () with braking-force simulation means (); and complementary moving and stationary means () for the sealing of the hydraulic connection means (). The moving and stationary sealing means () are borne by the secondary piston () and the body () respectively. The secondary piston () is axially movable between a rest position, in which the complementary sealing means () are spaced apart from each other, and a position in which said complementary sealing means () are cooperating with each other. Tandem master cylinder for electrohydraulic braking systems

A master cylinder having a body with a bore therein delimited by a piston into a work chamber and a supply chamber. The work chamber () is connected to wheel brakes, while the supply chamber is connected to a fluid supply, through a supply duct. The piston has a shank retained by a guide ring mounted in the bore and a head bears against a thrust ring in a rest position. A first end of the supply duct is connected to the fluid supply, while a end is connected to the supply chamber. A hydraulic damping arrangement that dampens movement of the piston toward the thrust ring and includes structure for shutting off the second end of the supply duct such that brake fluid flows at a reduced flow rate from the supply chamber to the supply duct through at least one exhaust duct.
