Some aspects of this disclosure include apparatuses and methods for implementing a synchronized short range communication protocol scan mechanism across multiple devices. Some aspects relate to an electronic device including a transceiver configured to communicate based on a short range communication protocol and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor receives one or more parameters from a peripheral electronic device and determines, based at least on the one or more parameters, one or more synchronization parameters. The processor further transmits the one or more synchronization parameters to the peripheral electronic device. The one or more synchronization parameters can include at least a scan offset associated with the peripheral electronic device.

Methods and apparatus to support scheduled access control for an electronic lock are described herein. An initiating central wireless device obtains an ephemeral identity resolving key (IRK) to use in resolving an ephemeral resolvable private address (RPA) of a peripheral wireless device. The initiating central wireless device can subsequently connect securely to the peripheral wireless device in order to unlock an electronic lock controlled by the peripheral wireless device to gain access during a scheduled time period. The ephemeral IRK and ephemeral RPA can be used for a limited period of time and/or for a predetermined number of usages during the scheduled time period.

Disclosed are methods, systems, and computer-readable medium to perform operations for selecting a device to prioritize for a high power link. The operations include detecting, in proximity of a mobile device, a first and second available devices. The operations also include establishing a respective connection with each of the first and second available device using a first radio access technology (RAT). Further, the operations include determining, using the respective connections, one or more metrics associated with first available device and the second available device, where the one or metrics comprise a respective angle of arrival at the mobile device corresponding to the first available device and the second available device. Further, the operations include determining, based at least on the one or more metrics, to establish a high power link with the first available device using a second RAT, where the second RAT utilizes more power than the first RAT.

Preferred device selection

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to reducing power consumption of an electronic device scanning for wireless communication signals while maintaining or even improving an efficiency of the scanning operations. To do so, the electronic device may include more than one scan core, such as a main core and a receiving core. The receiving core may have limited functionality compared to the main core. For example, the receiving core may only receive wireless signals (including scanning for wireless signals). That is, the receiving core may not support certain operations that consume relative high power that are supported by the main core, such as transmission of signals. In this way, operation of the receiving core, either in place of or in addition to the main core, may reduce power consumption of the electronic device by avoiding high power consuming operations, such as data transmission, while scanning for various signals.

An example system includes an application processor (AP), a transceiver associated with a firmware layer and a controller. The controller is configured to perform operations that include receiving data representing a clock synchronization request from a remote device, such as a UWB clock synchronization request. The request is received by the transceiver over a wireless communication link. The controller generates a response to the synchronization request. The response is configured for synchronizing a remote clock of the remote device and a local clock of the mobile device. The controller sends, to the remote device by the transceiver, the response to the synchronization request.

A method for dynamic sizing of a blocker margin by a receiver automatic gain control (AGC) is described. The method includes measuring a wanted signal level and a blocker signal level. The method also includes adjusting a linear target for the wanted signal level at the output of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) of the receiver based on the blocker signal level. The linear target is adjusted to optimize a wanted signal signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the blocker margin. The method further includes adjusting a receiver front-end gain based on the adjusted linear target.

Systems and methods for interference cancellation in a receiver of wireless signals include receiving a signal comprising an aggressor and a desired signal. The received signal is amplified in a low noise amplifier (LNA) to generate an amplified received signal. The aggressor is extracted from the received signal in a feed-forward path between an input of the LNA and an output of the LNA, to generate an extracted aggressor and the extracted aggressor is subtracted from the amplified received signal to provide the desired signal. An amplify and rotate block in the feed-forward path is used to align a phase of the aggressor to a phase of the amplified received signal in order to enable the subtraction.

A mechanism can be implemented for reducing the power consumption of a wireless radio device in establishing a wireless connection by utilizing a wideband signal to detect a narrowband trigger signal at a potential narrowband trigger frequency. The wireless radio device may operate a wideband receiver to receive an RF signal. Being aware of the potential narrowband trigger frequencies, the wideband receiver may utilize the received RF signal to detect the presence of a narrowband trigger signal at one of the potential narrowband trigger frequencies.

A method of operating a receiver in a communications system is disclosed. The receiver receives a radio-frequency (RF) data signal and converts the RF data signal to an intermediate frequency. The receiver then determines whether a blocker image interferes with the received data signal, and selectively adjusts the intermediate frequency to which the data signal is converted based on the determination. The receiver may lower the intermediate frequency if the blocker image interferes with the received data signal. The receiver may also deactivate a quadrature chain of the receiver if the blocker image interferes with the received data signal.
