The invention relates to a method for verifying the positioning of a fibrous preform in a blade, the blade having been obtained by injecting a resin into a mould having the shape of a blade and in which a preform has been placed, the blade extending in an orthonormal blade frame of reference X, Y, Z, the blade comprising a blade root extending longitudinally along an axis X, a vane extending from the blade root along an axis Z, the blade having a thickness defined along an axis Y, the preform comprising glass tracers positioned at the surface of the preform, the centre of the tracers defining a neutral axis located at a height along the axis Z in the direction defined by the axis X, the method comprising the following steps: the acquisition (E) of tomographic 2D projections of the blade using an imaging system comprising an X-ray source, each projection being acquired at a given orientation of the X-ray source with respect to the blade; the combining (E, E, E) of the 2D projections in the direction of the axis Y so as to obtain a cumulative 2D image in the directions X and Z; the determining (E), for each pixel column defined in the direction of the axis Z, of a greyscale profile; the processing (E) of each of the profiles obtained so as to locate the position, in Z, of the neutral axis in the direction of the axis X.

A fibrous preform for forming the fibrous reinforcement of a composite material part, the fibrous preform being made as a single piece and obtained by three-dimensional weaving, the preform including first and second skins and a longitudinal stiffening portion connecting the first to the second skin, the longitudinal stiffening portion forming a stiffening element of the part in the longitudinal direction. The preform has an intermediate portion extending in the longitudinal direction between two end portions. The longitudinal stiffening portion includes, in the intermediate portion, longitudinal non-woven threads or strands held together by first transverse threads or strands coming from the first skin and second transverse threads or strands coming from the second skin. In the end portions, the longitudinal threads or strands of the longitudinal stiffening portion are woven with the transverse threads or strands.

A fibrous preform obtained by three-dimensional weaving, comprising a first skin, a second skin, and a central portion connecting them and forming a stiffening element. In a transverse plane, transverse threads of the first skin and the second skin are woven in pairs in the first skin and the second skin on either side of the central portion; the threads of a first pair of the first skin and of a second pair of the second skin are separated into two unitary threads at the central portion by being woven with longitudinal threads, and a thread of the first pair crosses a thread of the second pair at least twice in the central portion.

A three-dimensional fibrous preform of a fan blade includes a blade root and a blade airfoil between the blade root and a free end of the preform. The airfoil has an area with two skins and a longitudinal stiffener between the skins and, in a transverse plane, transverse yarns of the skins woven in pairs in the first and in the second skin either side of the stiffener, the yarns of a first pair of the first skin are separated into two unit yarns at the stiffener, the unit yarns being woven separately with longitudinal yarns, the yarns of a second pair of the second skin are separated into two unit yarns at the stiffener, the yarns being woven separately with longitudinal yarns, and a yarn of each pair cross over each other twice in the stiffener.

Woven fibrous preform for manufacturing a fan blade made of composite material

A method of fabricating a composite material casing of varying thickness for a gas turbine includes using three-dimensional or multilayer weaving to make a fiber texture in the form of a strip; winding the fiber texture as a plurality of superposed layers onto a mandrel of profile corresponding to the profile of the casing to be fabricated, so as to obtain a fiber preform of shape corresponding to the shape of the casing to be fabricated; and densifying the fiber preform with a matrix. During winding of the fiber texture on the mandrel, a textile strip is interposed between the adjacent turns of the fiber texture, the textile strip presenting a width that is less than the width of the fiber texture and defining a retention zone of the casing.

Lighter-weight casing made of composite material and method of manufacturing same

A method of simulating shaping a textile strip by winding on a mold presenting a surface of revolution is described. The textile strip is made by three-dimensional weaving between a plurality of layers of warp yarns and a plurality of layers of weft yarns, the warp yarn layers being interlinked by the weft yarn layers. For each warp yarn layer, the method includes positioning crossing points between at least some of the warp yarns of the warp yarn layer and at least some of the weft yarns, the warp yarns of the at least some of the warp yarns including a reference warp yarn having a determined axial position on the mold.

Method of simulating shaping a textile strip on a mold presenting a surface of revolution

There is provided a method of fabricating a blade platform out of composite material with integrated gaskets for a turbine engine fan, the platform including a base and a stiffener, the method including using three-dimensional weaving to make a single-piece fiber blank with a plurality of longitudinal yarn layers extending in a direction corresponding to a longitudinal direction of the base of the platform; shaping the fiber blank to form a fiber preform having a first portion forming a base preform and a second portion forming a stiffener preform; positioning platform gaskets at side margins of the first portion of the fiber preform forming a base preform; placing the fiber preform with the gaskets in an injection mold; injecting resin into the injection mold; compacting the assembly; heating the injection mold to solidify the resin; and unmolding the resulting platform.

A method of designing a common preform for providing a plurality of preforms for turbine engine outlet guide vanes of different geometrical profiles and made out of composite material, the method including 3D geometrical modeling of the geometrical profiles of the different outlet guide vane preforms, flattening out each of the geometrical profiles of the different outlet guide vane preforms, superposing the geometrical profiles of the different flattened outlet guide vane preforms, and converging towards a single geometrical profile for an outlet guide vane preform common to all of the outlet guide vane preforms while guaranteeing identical positioning for the top and bottom regions of non-interlinking for all of the outlet guide vane preforms.
