The present invention discloses a display panel and a manufacturing method thereof. A thin film transistor array substrate of a display panel is provided with a first alignment layer; a color filter substrate of display panel is provided with a second alignment layer; the first alignment layer is formed by irradiating the first alignment material with a first light having a first wavelength, the second alignment layer is formed by irradiating the second alignment material with a second light having a second wavelength. The present invention permits the display panel to have good reliability and high contrast as well.

Display panel and manufacturing method thereof

A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel and an orientation method thereof are provided. An array substrate of the LCD panel includes signal input pad groups disposed thereon. A color filter substrate of the LCD panel includes first and second electrode portions disposed thereon and respectively electrically connected to the corresponding signal input pad groups. The signal input pads for receiving the same type of input signals are defined as one signal input pad group. The pitch between two adjacent signal input pad groups is determined to be greater than the pitch between two adjacent signal input pads in the same signal input pad group. As a result, under the premise of ensuring good yield of orientation, the design space occupied by the signal input pads can be reduced. The complexity of the probe bar is simplified. The flexibility in tuning the orientation of the LCD panel is enhanced.

Besides, a satisfactory transmittance can also be obtained through the method.

In a dark state where no electricity is applied, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged to be nearly perpendicular to surfaces of the TFT substrate and the CF substrate with no phase difference so that light leakage is extremely low and the dark state brightness is small thereby achieving a relatively high contrast; and after the application of a displaying electric field, the liquid crystal molecules are cause to rotate on a plane substantially parallel to the surfaces of the TFT substrate and the CF substrate so as to provide characteristics of a wide view angle and high transmittance offered by an IPS mode and an FFS mode.
