Address resolution information acquisition (ARIA) for a computing device is described. In some examples, ARIA includes a computing device (e.g., an Internet of things (IoT) node, a gateway, a server) determining, without use of an address resolution protocol (ARP), address resolution information of one or more other computing devices (e.g., a IoT node, a gateway, a server). In one example, the computing device uses data flowing to or from its application layer, transport layer, or network layer to determine address resolution information of another computing device. The address resolution information can comprise one or more of a link layer address (e.g., a media access control (MAC) address) and an Internet layer address (e.g., an Internet protocol (IP) address). Usage of a cache for storing or deleting address resolution information can also be part of ARIA.

A method of charging a power harvested supply in an electronic communication device, which can be an NFC (near field communication) device. The power harvested supply in the electronic communication device is charged without causing dV/V violation and avoids false wake up. An RF (radio frequency) field is received at the antenna of the electronic communication device. A differential voltage is generated from the RF field at a first tag pin and a second tag pin of the electronic communication device. A bandgap reference voltage and a reference current are generated in response to the differential voltage. A shunt current is generated in response to the differential voltage and the bandgap reference voltage. A bank of switching devices is activated if the shunt current is more than the reference current.

A method of operating a node of a network is disclosed. The method includes receiving a data frame having a header with plural addresses. The node determines if a first address of the plural addresses is an address of a descendant of the node and if a second address of the plural addresses is a parent address of the node. If so, the node changes a second address of the plural addresses to its own address in response to the step of determining. The node then transmits the data frame to at least one descendant of the node.

Enabling proximity operations with long-range wireless communication interfaces

Systems and methods for improved access point discoverability in multi-role multi-channel devices are described. When the multi-role multi-channel device leaves an AP role and then later returns to the AP role, such as when operating in another role, the multi-role multi-channel device sends a unicast probe response to the stations in a predetermined list. The unicast probe response is transmitted even without receiving a corresponding probe request. If one of the stations on the list is in the area and would like to connect to the AP role, it can complete the connection process using information in the response message.

A dual platform communication controller, a method of controlling communication of data packets based on different communication standards and a wireless transceiver. In one embodiment, the dual platform communication controller includes: (1) a signal interpreter configured to recognize first data packets based on a first communication standard and second data packets based on a second communication standard and (2) a traffic manager coupled to the signal interpreter and configured to dynamically control communication of the second data packets including active second data packets and allocate bandwidth for communication of the first and second data packets.

A communication unit has BT and LTE transceivers, and a BT processor. The BT processor sets up a BT connection over the BT transceiver; performs a legacy command to synchronize BT transactions over the BT connection based on LTE frames in a LTE connection over the LTE transceiver, so that a BT network clock is synchronized to LTE frames. The legacy command is a role switch command that is used to set a BT alignment time of a switch point between Bluetooth master/slave packets to a LTE switch between transmit and receive; and is specified in a BT Core Specification 4.0 or earlier. The processor can determine an expected alignment time to align BT master and slave packets to transmit and receive in the LTE frame based on a start time of the LTE frame, and can indicate the expected alignment time in the legacy command.

Method and device to synchronize bluetooth and LTE/WiMax transmissions for achieving coexistence

A novel and useful apparatus for and method of distributed coexistence for mitigating interference in a single chip radio and/or a multi-radio (i.e. multi-transceiver) communications device. The invention enables coexistence 'friendly' radio IPs having frequency agility in that they are capable of shifting their clock frequencies thereby avoiding frequency bands of potential victim radios. Frequency agility on the aggressor radio side (rather than by mitigating the effect of interference on the victim radio side) prevents harmonics from the aggressor's clock scheme from falling in the operating frequency band of the victim radio, and in turn causing degradation to its performance. Each aggressor radio, based on information received from other radios, configures the root clock frequency of its RX and/or TX chain clock generation circuits.

Distributed coexistence system for interference mitigation in a single chip radio or multi-radio communication device

A system for determining a frequency modulated audio output of a mobile communication device during a near field communication transaction includes a transceiver providing a first frequency modulated audio signal. The device also is configured to determine when the near field communication transaction is occurring; a memory configured to store a replacement sound; and a selection circuit coupled with the transceiver and the memory to select the replacement sound when the near field communication transaction is occurring and select the first frequency modulated audio signal when the near field communication transaction is not occurring. There is also a signal path coupled with the selection circuit and configured to provide a second frequency modulated signal based on the selection circuit. In this way, the replacement sound is the audio output when the NFC transaction is occurring and the regular audio is output when the NFC transaction is not occurring.
