Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for wireless communication are provided. An example method may include transmitting, to a network node, information associated with a first quantity of effective downlink transmit (Tx) antennas associated with the UE. The example method may further include receiving, from the network node, a transmission indicative of a set of precoding functions for a set of Tx antennas associated with the network node, where each precoding function of the set of precoding functions is associated with a respective group of multiple Tx antennas of the set of Tx antennas associated with the network node, and where a second quantity of precoding functions is smaller than or equal to the first quantity of the effective downlink Tx antennas. The example method may further include receiving, from the network node, a second transmission based on the set of precoding functions.

Methods, systems, and devices are described that support a report message for indicating non-linearity cancelation capability. A user equipment (UE) may receive one or more references signals from a network entity, where the reference signals are associated with a downlink resource allocation. The UE may measure a link quality metric for the reference signals. The UE may transmit a report message that includes at least a parameter indicating a non-linearity threshold associated with a capability of the UE to process non-linearity of downlink signals, where the parameter is based on the link quality metric and one or more characteristics of the downlink resource allocation. The network entity may receive the report message and transmit one or more downlink messages in accordance with the downlink resource allocation and based on the parameter.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications using a singular value decomposition (SVD) combiner precoder are described. The described techniques may enable a network entity to determine which streams of a set of multiple data streams to combine in the SVD combiner precoder to increase a lowest signal-to-noise ratio of the set of multiple data streams, and which streams of the multiple streams to leave separate. The network entity may determine a precoding matrix using a square matrix α, which may allow the network entity to dynamically combine (e.g., or not combine) data streams. The network entity may transmit an indication to a UE indicating which streams the network entity will combine and which streams the network entity will not combine. The UE may accordingly demodulate the non-combined streams with a relatively less complex demodulator and may demodulate the combined streams with a relatively more complex demodulator.

Signal-to-noise ratio balancing using singular value combiner precoder matrices

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support signaling of network entities' phase noise inter-carrier interference (ICI) order for reducing user equipment (UE) phase noise cancelation complexity. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes obtaining a power spectral density (PSD) measurement of a phase noise mask of a network entity prior to deployment in the field. The network entity, after deployment, measures an integrated residual PSD measurement per candidate phase noise bandwidth size and transmits these integrated residual PSD measurements to a UE. The UE may then use the integrated residual PSD measurements to estimate phase noise for cancelation from network entity transmissions. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

The UE may receive, from the network node and during the slot, a first one or more reference signals associated with estimating a physical channel using the first precoder and a second one or more reference signals associated with estimating a second precoder using the estimated physical channel. Precoder estimation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques described herein provide for a user equipment (UE) to determine a channel estimation associated with a downlink channel. In some examples, a network entity may determine a projection matrix and may transmit, to the UE, control signaling indicating the projection matrix. The UE may determine the channel estimation associated with the downlink channel based on the projection matrix. The UE may receive data signaling from the network entity, and the UE may demodulate the data signaling according to the channel estimation that is based at least in part on the projection matrix.

Techniques for downlink channel estimation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that the UE is to apply a digital-post distortion (DPoD) procedure to a received signal to reduce non-linearities of the received signal. In some examples, the UE may determine one or more autocorrelation values for a power delay profile (PDP) of a channel, receive an indication of a matrix, and identify coefficients (e.g., b-coefficients) for use in the DPoD procedure based on multiplying the autocorrelation values and the matrix. Alternatively, a network entity may determine the autocorrelation values indicate them to the UE for use in identifying the coefficients. In some other cases, the network entity may use the autocorrelation values and the matrix to determine the coefficients and then may indicate the coefficients to the UE. The UE may apply the DPoD procedure to the received signal using the coefficients.

Calculating coefficients in low-complexity digital post-distortion procedures

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may apply a precoding operation to a downlink physical channel. The network node may obtain a plurality of coefficients associated with a non-linearity of the downlink physical channel in accordance with estimating a cross-correlation of a plurality of power delay profiles associated with the precoding operation. The network node may precode a physical downlink shared channel communication in accordance with a result of the precoding operation. The network node may transmit the plurality of coefficients via a physical downlink control channel communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Coefficient estimation for non-linearity cancellation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may precode communications with a precoding configured to improve non-linearity (NL). Some aspects more specifically relate to a user equipment (UE) obtaining power amplifier (PA) NL coefficients associated with NL of PAs of a network node. The UE may transmit an indication of the PA NL coefficients to the network node, which may use the indication to select precoding configured to improve reception of communications transmitted with PA NL or to improve decoding of communications transmitted using the precoding.

Precoding for non-linearity correction

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a request for a data transmission that includes multiple subsets of data each associated with a different constellation granularity. In response to the request, the base station may encode the data transmission using multiple different constellation granularities and may transit the encoded data transmission to the UE. For example, the UE may receive the data transmission including a first subset of data that was encoded by the base station using a first constellation granularity and a second subset of data that was encoded by the base station using a second constellation granularity. The UE may then iteratively estimate phase-noises associated with respective subsets of data and perform phase-noise correction operations on the entire data transmission based on the estimated phase-noises.

Aspects are provided which allow for a network entity such as a base station to configure odd modulation orders to be applied to downlink or uplink transmissions via signaling between the network entity and the UE. Initially, the network entity transmits a configuration to the UE indicating network support for communications using odd order modulation. Afterwards, the UE transmits, and the network entity receives, data in a signal using the odd order modulation. As a result, improved SPEF, PAPR reduction, and phase noise mitigation associated with odd order modulations may be realized through application of odd order modulations to data transmissions or receptions based on network support being configured for such odd order modulations.

A transmitting device may select a scrambling sequence to use per symbol to reduce variance in a non-linearity parameter for a power amplifier (PA) output between a data symbol and a pilot symbol based on a PA model for at least one pilot symbol or one or more parameters of the model. The receiving device may indicate a capability to blindly estimate the scrambling sequence the transmitting device selected to the transmitting device. If the transmitting device does not receive the capability message from the receiving device or if the capability message indicates the receiving device is not capable of blind estimation, the transmitting device may indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device. Otherwise, the transmitting device may not indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device, and the receiving device may blindly estimate the scrambling sequence.
