Systems and methods are provided for an integrated chip. An integrated chip includes a package substrate including a plurality of first layers and a plurality of second layers, each second layer being disposed between a respective adjacent pair of the first layers. A transceiver unit is disposed above the package substrate. A waveguide unit including a plurality of waveguides having top and bottom walls formed in the first layers of the package substrate and sidewalls formed in the second layers of the package substrate.

Multiband QAM interface for slab waveguide

A system, apparatus and method are disclosed for communicating between a short range wireless (WLAN) user device, such as a wearable, phone, or tablet, with a base station. Traditional low power communication (e.g., WLAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular links, etc.) involve an inefficient amplification process of a signal from the WLAN user to the base station, whereby significant power must be expended in the WLAN user device making it unsuitable in many applications. A reflector link paradigm is disclosed in which the user device communicates by modulating the extent of signal reflected back to the base station. An enhanced reflector is also disclosed which overcomes adverse effects of ambient reflections.

Microwave reflector link, and CDMA-spread spectrum reflector apparatus for reduction of unmodulated ambient blockers in reflected data links

Communication between a wireless base-station and a microwave reflector link are enhanced by feeding back a portion of the transmitter signal, adjusted for phase and amplitude, to cancel ambient reflection blocker signals being received at the base-station. The microwave reflector link does not utilize a transmitter gain stage, but communicates data back to the base-station in response to modulating the reflections of its antenna (e.g., in gain and/or phase). The disclosure aids in the proper amplification and processing of reflection signals from the microwave reflector link, by canceling out the blocking signals which arise as background objects reflect transmitter signal energy back to the base-station.

Reduction of unmodulated ambient blockers in reflected data links through manipulation or replication of the transmitting signal source

Dielectric coupler devices and dielectric coupling systems for communicating EHF electromagnetic signals, and their methods of use. The coupler devices include an electrically conductive body having a major surface, the electrically conductive body defining an elongate recess, and the elongate recess having a floor, where a dielectric body is disposed in the elongate recess and configured to conduct an EHF electromagnetic signal.

Dielectric coupling systems for EHF communications

A wave cable transceiver system is disclosed incorporating an air-core or noble gas filled hollow plastic waveguide. The system may include a transmitter receiver, in-antennas and a tubular plastic waveguide with the inner air-core. The hollow plastic waveguide is a low loss and low dispersion guiding channel for the electromagnetic radiation.

A chip-to-chip communications circuit which is particularly well-suited for short range communication (less than a few inches) from one integrated circuit (chip) to another is presented. The circuits preferably utilize multi-frequency quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) mechanisms for converting digital data bits from a parallel form into a serial analog stream for communication over a chip I/O connection. Differential current mode modulation in the transmitter, and demodulation in the receiver, are utilized which reduce latency and power-consumption while increasing manufacturing yields and resilience to process variations.

A serializer and de-serializer circuit having self tracking circuitry which is particularly well-suited for use in communicating digital data from one integrated circuit (chip) to another for implementing chip-to-chip communications is presented. The circuits are scalable and utilize a multi-frequency modulation mechanism (e.g., QAM) for converting digital data bits into a serial analog stream at multiple frequencies for communication over a chip I/O connection. The track pulse generated on the transmitter side is serialized through the same path as the data, and demodulated through the same path in the de-serializer to provide synchronization with the data, without the need for complicated base band processing.

A serializer and de-serializer circuit which is particularly well-suited for use in communicating digital data from one integrated circuit (chip) to another for implementing chip-to-chip communications is presented. The circuits are scalable and utilize a multi-frequency quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) mechanism for converting digital data bits from a parallel form into a serial analog stream for communication over a chip I/O connection. The serializer has multiple digital-to-analog converters (DACs) whose outputs are directed to QAM mixer inputs, within QAMs at multiple frequencies, whose outputs are summed into a single analog signal for communication over an I/O connection. The de-serializer amplifies the analog signal which is received by QAM mixers at different frequencies, whose outputs are low pass filtered and converted back to parallel digital data bits.

Scalable serial/de-serial I/O for chip-to-chip connection based on multi-frequency QAM scheme

Systems, apparatus, modules, and methods of communicating with memory devices utilizing multi-band communication containing a baseband and one or more amplitude shift keyed (ASK) RF channels over each differential pair of off-chip transmission lines. Configurations are described for interfacing between microprocessors, or controllers and memory devices or modules, and within a DIMM and its DRAM devices, and between multiple DIMM memory modules.
