This invention relates generally to a thermoplastic compositions and, more particularly, to compositions comprising a polymer matrix and comprising a filler composition. To that end, according to the aspects of the invention, a thermoplastic composition is disclosed that generally comprises a polymer matrix and at least one filler composition. The polymer matrix generally comprises at least one polycarbonate or polyamide. The filler composition generally comprises at least one laser direct structuring additive with a mean particle size of less than 1 &#x3bc;m and may additionally optionally comprise flame retardants, stabilizers and process aids.

Thermoplastic compositions containing nanoscale-sized particle additives for laser direct structuring and methods for the manufacture and use thereof

The present disclosure relates to blended thermoplastic compositions comprising: a) from about 20 wt % to about 80 wt % of a polycarbonate polymer component; b) from about 5 wt % to about 30 wt % of a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer component; c) from about 1 wt % to about 20 wt % of a laser direct structuring additive component; and d) from about 0.02 wt % to about 5 wt % of a metal component; wherein the combined weight percent value of all components does not exceed about 100 wt %; and wherein all weight percent values are based on the total weight of the composition.

Metallization and surface coating solution on glass filler high peformance amorphous polymer compositions

Compositions based on polycarbonate copolymers to provide ultra-clean materials and articles useful in the hard disk drive and semiconductor industries. In one aspect, the compositions include a polycarbonate copolymer based on a sebacic acid, BPA, PCP polyestercarbonate. The compositions may be used with or without other polymers, fillers or additives. The compositions based on this polycarbonate copolymer exhibit ultra clean performance, low organic contamination, low LPC, and low ionic contaminations. Meanwhile, the compositions also exhibit good flow ability, good ductility and good surface quality.
