Methods, apparatuses and a user equipment for performing a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) transmission in a downlink from a base station to at least one user equipment are provided. An exemplary method comprises receiving a HARQ feedback to a HARQ transmission performed with respect to a transport block. The method further comprises determining whether the HARQ feedback is an ambiguous HARQ feedback with respect to a negative acknowledgement or a discontinuous transmission. The method additionally comprises setting (S) the ambiguous HARQ feedback as the negative acknowledgement or the discontinuous transmission based on the number of HARQ transmissions having been performed and the corresponding received HARQ feedbacks within a target number of HARQ transmissions counting from a first HARQ transmission. With the methods and apparatuses, the ambiguity of the HARQ feedback can be overcome and communication efficiency may be improved.

Methods, apparatuses and user equipment for hybrid automatic repeat request transmission

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a cell configuration method in a wireless network with a plurality of carriers. The method is performed at a base station of the wireless network. The method comprises generating a common cell from a first plurality of sectors at a first carrier of the plurality of carriers and identifying one or more high-traffic sectors from a second plurality of sectors at a second carrier of the plurality of carriers by monitoring a traffic volume of each of the second plurality of sectors. Each of the identified high-traffic sectors has the traffic volume higher than a predetermined threshold. The method also comprises generating one or more independent high-traffic cells from the one or more high-traffic sectors. The first plurality of sectors at least partially overlaps with the second plurality of sectors. Correspondingly, there is also provided an apparatus for cell configuration in a wireless network with a plurality of carriers.

Method and apparatus for cell configuration

The present disclosure provides a method in a base station of a radio network for antenna calibration of a first transceiver of the base station with respect to a second transceiver. The method comprises at least one of a first group and a second group of steps. The first group of steps comprises collecting a first group of amplitude and phase differences between a first calibration signal and each of a first and a fourth reception signals and between a second calibration signal and each of a second and a third reception signals. The first group of steps further comprises estimating, based on the first group of amplitude and phase differences, a signal response characteristic difference between a calibration reception chain of the first transceiver and a calibration reception chain of the second transceiver for reference antenna reception calibration of the first transceiver with respect to the second transceiver.

Methods and apparatus for antenna calibration

Exemplary methods for coordinating inter-cell interference in a heterogeneous network comprising a macro cell and at least one small cell include obtaining, with regard to a terminal device in a small cell, a type of interference from the macro cell to the small cell, and determining a relationship between a number of uplink subframes and a number of downlink subframes in a current subframe configuration used in the macro cell. The methods also include allocating protected subframes for the terminal device according to the obtained type of interference and the determined relationship, and scheduling transmission in relation to the allocated protected subframes in the macro cell.

Method and apparatus for coordinating inter-cell interference

The invention discloses a timing synchronization method in a User Equipment (UE) which is served in a first cell of a first synchronous communication network and also located in a second cell of a second synchronous communication network. The method comprises receiving a message from a communication node of the first network, the message including clock offsets of the first cell and the second cell or timing difference there between, and calculating downlink synchronization of the second cell from downlink synchronization of the first cell and the clock offsets/timing difference.

Air-interface timing synchronization sharing

A radio base station and a method therein are provided for allocating measurement gaps within a MGRP to UEs currently being served by the base station, wherein consideration is taken to the impact a measurement gap has on the HARQ processes. A plurality of possible measurement gaps are identified within the MGRP with regards to their starting point and duration in time within the MGRP. A number of HARQ processes that would be affected due to the identified measurement gaps with regards to a starting point in time of the identified measurement gaps during the MGRP are determined for the identified measurement gaps. The identified measurement gaps are ranked depending on the number of HARQ processes which would be affected during the MGRP and the identified measurement gaps are allocated to the UEs based on the ranking.

In one aspect, the present invention comprises an apparatus and method for improving energy saving procedures in a wireless communication network, wherein one or more cells in the network are selectively inactivated for energy savings and reactivated as needed. More particularly, the present invention provides improved control for transitioning a cell to or from a power savings mode, including dynamic, adjustable power control and handover parameter control, based on the involved cells exchanging status and/or control information. The dynamic control results in gradual rather than abrupt changes to cell coverage area, as a cell is transitioned to or from the power savings mode.
