System and method embodiments are provided for using different storage formats for a primary database and its replicas in a database managed replication (DMR) system. As such, the advantages of both formats can be combined with suitable design complexity and implementation. In an embodiment, data is arranged in a sequence of rows and stored in a first storage format at the primary database. The data arranged in the sequence of rows is also stored in a second storage format at the replica database. The sequence of rows is determined according to the first storage format or the second storage format. The first storage format is a row store (RS) and the second storage format is a column store (CS), or vice versa. In an embodiment, the sequence of rows is determined to improve compression efficiency at the CS.

Apparatus and method for managing storage of a primary database and a replica database

A method for functionally rewriting iterative queries for a relational database management system (RDBMS) is provided. The method comprises receiving a first iterative query, the first iterative query having a first non-iterative part that defines a first main table and a first iterative part that generates values in rows of a first working table based on values in rows of the first main table, determining that the first iterative part modifies all of the rows of the first working table, and rewriting the first iterative part, including: adding a renaming operation to rename the first working table to a new first main table and to rename the first main table to a new first working table, adding a first Delete operation to delete each row of the new first working table, and adding a first loop operation to repeat the first iterative part until a first termination condition is met.

Processing iterative query constructs in relational databases

A method for data redistribution of a job data in a first datanode (DN) to at least one additional DN in a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) Database (DB) is provided. The method includes recording a snapshot of the job data, creating a first data portion in the first DN and a redistribution data portion in the first DN, collecting changes to a job data copy stored in a temporary table, and initiating transfer of the redistribution data portion to the at least one additional DN.

The exhalation filter assembly includes an exhalation duct for receiving exhaled air, an exhalation gas filter and an exhalation liquid filter for filtering and disinfecting the exhaled air, and an outlet duct for releasing the filtered and disinfected exhaled air.

Portable air filtration and disinfection device for a respirator system

A system is described herein for controlling an inverter comprising an artificial neural network (ANN) and a space vector pulse-width modulation converter. The ANN comprises an input layer, plurality of hidden layers, an output layer, and a processor. The ANN receives a plurality of input signals and produces output signals that control a SVPWM converter. The ANN is trained to minimize a cost function and to implement optimal control based on ADP. Further, the ANN can be configured to handle rated current and PWM saturation constraints in providing volt/VAR control functions. Finally, the ANN uses averaged feedback signals instead of instantaneous feedback signals to improve volt/VAR control performance of parallel inverters. Performance evaluation shows that an ANN controller has a strong ability to maintain volt and VAR control at the grid edge and prevent fighting between inverters thereby allowing an inverter to work effectively in parallel with other ANN-controlled inverters.

A structure having imbedded array of components is described. An example structure includes an imbedded component array layer having an array of imbedded passive devices contained therein. The structure further includes an Integrated Fan-Out (InFO) layer residing adjacent a first surface of the imbedded component array layer having traces and vias formed therein. The structure further includes an insulator layer residing adjacent a second surface of the imbedded component array layer and electrically coupled to at least the InFO layer and vias passing through the imbedded component array layer and electrically coupled to some of vias of the InFO layer.

Present invention is a tip adjustable stylet to be inserted into a tubular structure and to be pushed out its distal aperture to form curvatures. The device comprises a bendable member, a retracting string, an intersegment and a control handle. The bendable member has a control ring at its proximal end and a tip at its distal end. An operator can push the bendable member distally from the proximal end along the lumen of the tubular structure. Predetermined extensibility and length of the retracing string limit distance of the bendable member being pushed and hold the distal portion of the bendable member backward when the bendable member is been pushed forward outside of the tubular structure's distal aperture, thereby to bend the distal portion of the bendable member into the curves therefore to move its tip to a target location, such as patient's vocal cords opening.

Described herein is an approximate dynamic programming (ADP) vector controller for control of a permanent magnet (PM) motor. The ADP controller is developed using the full dynamic equation of a PM motor and implemented using an artificial neural network (ANN). A feedforward control strategy is integrated with the ANN-based ADP controller to enhance the stability and transient performance of the ADP controller in both linear and over modulation regions. Simulation and hardware experiments demonstrate that the proposed ANN-based ADP controller can track large reference changes with high efficiency and reliability for PM motor operation in linear and over modulation regions.

Systems, methods and devices for approximate dynamic programming vector controllers for operation of IPM motors in linear and over modulation regions

An intubation and supraglottic airway medical device. The device includes an air tube for ventilation, and a tube for guiding a fiber-optic-probe-scope to the distal end of the device. The distal end of the device is configured with a balloon around the tube system and between a bottom plate and the tube system such that when inflated the distal end of the air-tube is moved and thereby positioning the air-tube distal opening in front of a laryngeal inlet. Additionally, the balloon forms a seal with the surrounding tissue. The device includes a drainage loop and an esophageal blocker preventing aspiration. The air tube distal end can include a lifting plate configured to lift an epiglottis when the balloon is inflated.

Endotracheal intubation and supraglottic airway device

An airway device configured for intubation under blind or optionally under indirect vision of a fiber optic scope. It also configured to be used as a supraglottic airway device supporting external breathing or anesthesia circuits. The device comprises a tube system with expansion projections, a base, one or more inflation balloons, and a gastric suction tube. The device can include a stylet to guide endotracheal tube during intubation. The tube system can include an air tube and fiber-optic-probe tube. The balloon system can move the end of the tube system anteriorly to align it with the laryngeal opening. The balloon system can seal the airway leakage for low positive pressure ventilation for the device to operate as a supraglottic airway device. The inflation balloon and expansion projection can displace tissue that can block the airway path. The base can carry esophageal gastric drainage tube to the upper esophageal sphincter to block and drain gastric content regurgitation.
