A key-value store and a file system are integrated together to provide improved operations. The key-value store can include a log engine, a hash engine, a sorting engine, and a garbage collection manager. The features of the key-value store can be configured to reduce the number of I/O operations involving the file system, thereby improving read efficiency, reducing write latency, and reducing write amplification issues inherent in the combined key-value store and file system.

A computing device for verifying data integrity is provided, comprising a memory controller configured to receive a plurality of original data blocks. Each original data block has an associated initial CRC value. The memory controller then segments and recombines the received data blocks into logic blocks, and calculates a new logic block CRC value for each logic block. The logic blocks are transmitted with their respective new logic block CRC values to a storage device, and the logic blocks are written to non-volatile memory of the storage device in a write operation. After the write operation, a combined CRC value is calculated for the logic blocks and a combined CRC value for the original data blocks, and compare the combined CRC values. The memory controller determines whether the combined CRC values match. When they match, the memory controller generates a verification response verifying the integrity of the write operation.

Device and methods for managing the data integrity of read and write operations

The disclosed embodiments provide a system that performs molecular assembly. During operation, the system delivers one or more droplets of a fluid onto a surface using a nanofluidic delivery probe and an associated high-precision positioning device, wherein the solution comprises a solvent and one or more solute molecules, and wherein delivery of the droplets onto the surface facilitates evaporation-driven assembly of one or more structures on the surface. Moreover, while delivering a droplet onto the surface, the system controls a size of the droplet and a shape of the droplet during evaporation to produce a variety of shapes in resulting structures.

Facilitating controlled molecular assembly of nanoscale structures via dynamic confinement of solvent

Decoupled computing systems include layers of same-type computing resources, and include a dispatch layer to assign tasks from one layer to another, such as input and output (I/O) flows. The I/O flows can be assigned to particular computing resources of a layer based on a weighted moving average of performance data for the layer. When traffic is high, the assignment can include random assignment to some or all of the computing resources in the layer. The I/O flows can be split between read-intensive and write-intensive flows, with more read-intensive flows being assigned based on a pick ratio.

Systems and methods for input/output dispatch

The invention relates to protein nanocapsules that exhibit material properties that change in different in vivo environments. A zwitterion moiety on the surface of the nanocapsule can protect the protein from opsonization in a first environment, yet uncouples from the protein nanocapsule in a second environment (e.g. at a pH of less than 6.5). In embodiments of the invention, the uncoupled protein nanocarrier is then internalized by mammalian cells (e.g. tumor cells).

The invention relates to methods and materials for extending a circulating half-life of a protein. The method comprises conjugating a protein with a polymerizable acryloyl group and encapsulating the protein with a layer of poly(2-methacryloxyloxyethyl phosphorycholine) (pMPC). The layer of pMPC comprises a plurality of 2-methacryloxyloxyethyl phosphorycholine monomers (MPC) polymerized with a N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (BIS) crosslinker.

Stealth nanocapsules for protein delivery

Methods for modifying therapeutic agents such as therapeutic biomolecules, such as proteins for improved oral, rectal or transmucosal delivery, as well as compositions made using such methods and methods of administering such compositions to a subject, are disclosed. Specifically, the therapeutic agents are conjugated to hyperbranched polymers (HBPs), such as hyperbranched polyglycerol (HPG). When such conjugates are administered orally to a subject, the HBP protects the therapeutic agent from the acid environment of the stomach and protease attack in the gastro-intestinal tract, while facilitating the absorption of the therapeutic agent in the higher pH environment of the intestines. The methods and compositions are useful for the improved administration of a variety of therapeutic agents to a subject.
