A method and apparatus for protecting against copying high definition (HD) contents transmitted in a wireless HD (WiHD) network by using a WiHD source or sink device, the method including: determining a type of copy protection of contents transmitted in the WiHD network; calculating accumulatively a number of media access control (MAC) sub-packets as a input counter information, wherein the MAC sub packets constitute a MAC payload including the contents; packetizing the type of copy protection and the input counter information into a MAC packet; and transmitting the MAC packet to a WiHD sink device.

Method and apparatus for protecting against copying contents by using WiHD device

Managing metadata in a metadata transmission server by generating a plurality of metadata fragment data by partitioning metadata to be transmitted based upon predetermined segment units, selecting predetermined metadata fragment data from among the plurality of the metadata fragment data, generating metadata-related authentication information using the selected metadata fragment data, and transmitting the selected metadata fragment data and the metadata-related authentication information including data format information indicating type of the selected metadata fragment data. A metadata receiving client uses the transmitted metadata fragment data, the metadata-related authentication information and the metadata format type information to authenticate the received metadata.

Method of managing metadata

A method of encrypting metadata that can be represented by a tree structure. The method involves generating an encryption key for a predetermined node of the metadata using a function that takes as input parameters an encryption key for an upper node of the predetermined node and information specifying the predetermined node, and encrypting data of the predetermined node using the generated encryption key.

Method for encrypting and decrypting metadata

A method of measuring a similarity between images is provided. The method includes the steps of (a) computing a statistical dissimilarity between the images; (b) computing a perceptual dissimilarity between the images; and (c) computing a dissimilarity between the texture features of the images based on the statistical dissimilarity and the perceptual dissimilarity. When images perceptually similar to a query image are searched and retrieved according to the above measuring method, the possibility that the retrieved images are not perceptually similar to the query image is small. Accordingly, the image searching performance can be improved when searching images having texture features similar to that of a query image.
