Display device

A display device includes a substrate, a pixel structure, a lighting circuit part, a driving integrated circuit part, a first lighting wire, a second lighting wire, and a connection electrode. The substrate includes a display area and a pad area. The pixel structure is on the substrate in the display area to emit light. The lighting circuit part is on the substrate in the pad area, and is electrically coupled to the pixel structure. The first lighting wire is spaced apart from a first side of the driving integrated circuit part in a first direction, and is coupled to the lighting circuit part. The second lighting wire is spaced apart from a second side facing the first side of the driving integrated circuit part in a second direction opposite to the first direction. The connection electrode electrically couples the first lighting wire and the second lighting wire to each other.

A display device includes a display element including a first electrode, a protective layer arranged on the first electrode, a second electrode arranged on the protective layer at a pixel area and contacting a thin film transistor. A sensing line is arranged on the protective layer and contacts the first electrode through a contact hole exposing the first electrode through the third protective layer. The sensing line comprises a first conductive layer arranged on the protective layer and contacting the second electrode through the contact hole, and a second conductive layer arranged on the first conductive layer.

A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a gate line disposed on the first substrate and extending parallel to a major horizontal reference line of the display, and a plurality of pixel unit cells disposed on and tesslating a display area of the first substrate where each unit cell includes a first field generating electrode and a second field generating electrode with an insulating layer interposed therebetween, wherein a first one of the first and second field generating electrodes has a plurality of cutouts defined therein for producing corresponding liquid crystal domains, the plurality of cutouts each including a first inclined edge portion forming a first angle with the vertical reference line and a second inclined edge portion forming a second angle with the vertical reference line that is different from the first angle.

Liquid crystal display

A display device includes a substrate including a display area and a non-display area outside the display area, a plurality of pixels located in the display area, a driving circuit driving the pixels, and a pad portion located in the non-display area and electrically connected to the driving circuit through a plurality of outer wirings. The pad portion includes a plurality of pad wirings each electrically connected to corresponding ones of the outer wirings. The pad wirings includes a first pad wiring and a second pad wiring separated from each other. The first pad wiring includes a first electrode layer, an insulating layer on the first electrode, and a second electrode layer on the insulating layer in a stacking direction, the second electrode layer being connected to the first electrode layer. The second pad wiring includes the first electrode layer but not the second electrode layer.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided. a liquid crystal display comprising: a first substrate and a second substrate that are opposite to each other; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; a light blocking pattern including a first light blocking pattern and a second light blocking pattern arranged to extend along one direction on the first substrate; and a column spacer formed on the first light blocking pattern on the first substrate, wherein the light blocking pattern includes an open portion disposed between the first light blocking pattern and the second light blocking pattern, and formed to be spaced apart from the column spacer for a predetermined distance.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) is provided, a liquid crystal display comprising: a first substrate and a second substrate that are opposite to each other; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; a light blocking pattern including a first light blocking pattern and a second light blocking pattern arranged to extend along one direction on the first substrate; and a column spacer formed on the first light blocking pattern on the first substrate, wherein the light blocking pattern includes an open portion disposed between the first light blocking pattern and the second light blocking pattern, and formed to be spaced apart from the column spacer for a predetermined distance.

The organic insulating layer and the pixel defining layer have a valley disposed therein. The valley is formed by removing portions of the organic insulating layer and the pixel defining layer along a circumference of the display area.

A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate that includes a first switching element and first electric field forming electrodes that form a first electric field based on on/off signals received from the first switching element, a second substrate which faces the first substrate and that includes a second switching element and second electric field forming electrodes that form a second electric field b on/off signals received from the second switching element, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the liquid crystal layer includes a first electric field area controlled by the first substrate in which the first electric field is formed, and a second electric field area controlled by the second substrate in which the second electric field is formed, and wherein the first electric field area and the second electric field area are arranged side by side.
