A signal field indication method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: generating, by a transmit end, a PPDU, where the PPDU includes a SIG-A indication field, and the SIG-A indication field includes at least one of a field used to indicate a number of SIG-A information symbols and a field used to indicate a SIG-A information bandwidth; and sending, by the transmit end, the PPDU. According to the method provided in this application, the transmit end may indicate different numbers of SIG-A information symbols and/or different SIG-A information bandwidths.

Signal field indication method and apparatus

A channel state information transmission method, where a responder receives a channel measurement signal sent by an initiator by using one or more transmit antennas, and the responder sends a feedback frame to the initiator based on the channel measurement signal. The feedback frame includes information used to indicate a transmit antenna subset of the initiator and one or more channel state information blocks of a channel between the corresponding transmit antenna subset of the initiator and the responder, where the transmit antenna subset is determined from one or more transmit antennas by using which a channel measurement signal is sent.

The method includes: receiving, by an access point, a sending request sent by a first station, and sending clear to send information to the first station; when the access point receives feedback information sent by the first station, allocating, by the access point, a channel to the first station, and allocating a channel to a second station based on remaining bandwidth; generating a first trigger frame, and sending the first trigger frame to the first station and the second station; and receiving uplink data sent by the first station and the second station. Access method and apparatus

The present application provides a channel access process method in a wireless local area network. The method includes: generating, by a station, a backoff counter value; then performing, by the station, a backoff operation after receiving a first trigger frame, where the backoff operation includes: deducting, from the backoff counter value, a quantity N of subchannels for random access, to obtain a new backoff counter value; and when the new backoff counter value is 0 or a negative number, randomly selecting, by the station, one subchannel from the subchannels for random access, and then accessing the subchannel to send an uplink frame. The present application further provides a corresponding channel access apparatus. Applying the method and the apparatus of the embodiments of the present application improves system access efficiency and avoids a waste of system resources.

The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus for indicating a channel in a wireless local area network WLAN. A sending station generates and sends a physical protocol data unit PPDU, the PPDU includes a preamble field and a data field, a high efficiency signal field HE-SIG-A of the preamble field includes a bandwidth identifier and a channel bonding identifier, and the channel bonding identifier is used to indicate whether a data transmission channel is continuous in a frequency domain. In the foregoing manner, a discontinuous channel in a frequency domain in a wireless local area network is indicated, an available channel for data transmission is improved, and a system throughput is increased.

In an ISS process, the initiator sends a first SSW frame in different sector directions by sequentially using an antenna in m antennas, where m is not less than 1 and is less than or equal to N, and in an RSS process, the initiator receives a second SSW frame in a parallel (e.g., simultaneous) omnidirectional manner by using M antennas, where the second SSW frame is sent by a responder in different sector directions, each second SSW frame carries information used to indicate a first SSW frame with best quality in the ISS process, and the M antennas include at least the m antennas, and determines an optimal transmit beam in the ISS process based on the received second SSW frame.

A channel selection method and a transmit end are provided. The method includes: ranking multiple channels, and generating a backoff count value; sequentially decrementing, from an initial timeslot, the backoff count value in each timeslot according to a ranking sequence of the channels and busy/idle states of all the channels until the backoff count value is 0; and selecting, from the multiple channels according to a result of the decrement performed on the backoff count value and a busy/idle state of at least one of the multiple channels, a channel that is used by the transmit end for sending data. The method and the transmit end can improve channel utilization.

Scheduling method, access point, and station

A communications method and device, to reduce service interruption time and signaling overheads that are generated when an access point that provides a communication service for a station changes because the station moves or changes a direction. First frames sent by different access points in an access point set to a station include a same sending address. In this way, when the station moves or changes a direction, the access point that provides the communication service for the station changes from one access point in the access point set to another access point. Because first frames sent by access points in the access point set include a same sending address, the station may consider the access point set as one access point.

Communications method and device having virtual access point

This application provides a data transmission method. When performing data transmission with a first station in a bandwidth power saving mode by using an operating channel of the first station, an access point performs data transmission with a second station by using an operating channel of the second station. Therefore, even if the operating channel of the first station includes a primary channel, the access point can still perform data transmission with the second station by using another channel. Further, for the access point, although the operating channel of the first station occupies only a part of available bandwidth resources of the access point, the access point can still perform data transmission with the second station by using a remaining channel.
