The present disclosure proposes a method for device to device communication and apparatuses using the same. More particularly, the present disclosure proposes a method and apparatuses to manage device to device (D2D) network resources based on maintain a user equipment (UE) network topology. The proposal includes a equipment (UE) requesting an authorization from the network for D2D communication in a licensed frequency spectrum, the UE would then receive through a control node or through another non-mobile UE the authorization which includes an identification (ID) information which allows the UE to engage in D2D communication in the license spectrum even when the UE is outside the range of the serving base station.

Resource management method and apparatuses for device to device communications

A transmitter for transmitting signals to a receiver is provided. The transmitter generates a padded code sequence including a plurality of symbols with the last symbol being a duplication of the first symbol, and transmit the padded code sequence with the symbols therein respectively corresponding to a plurality of first sub-carriers to the receiver via an air interface using a first antenna in a time period. Also, the transmitter duplicates the padded code sequence and transmits the duplicated padded code sequence with the symbols therein respectively corresponding to a plurality of second sub-carriers to the receiver via the air interface using a second antenna in the time period.

Systems and methods for code sequence extension over transmission in wireless communication environments

This disclosure is directed to a D2D discovery method applicable to a UE and a network entity and a UE and a network entity using the same. In one of the exemplary embodiments, this disclosure is directed to a D2D discovery method that is applicable to a network entity and includes at least but not limited to receiving a first cancel proximity request comprising a network level discoverer identifier (ID), an application ID, and an application layer discoveree ID, transmitting a second cancel proximity request comprising the network level discoverer ID and a network level discoveree ID in response to receiving the first cancel proximity request, receiving a first acknowledgement signal that corresponds to the second cancel proximity request in response to transmitting the second cancel proximity request, and transmitting a second acknowledgement signal that corresponds to the first cancel proximity request in response to receiving the first acknowledgement signal.

Device to device discovery method for user equipment and network entity and user equipment and network entity using the same

A method for broadcast assistance in a direct communication system and an apparatus using the same are disclosed. The proposed method includes the following steps. A coordinator receives a broadcast assistance request message from a plurality of broadcast devices. The coordinator transmits a broadcast assistance confirmation signal to the broadcast devices and broadcasts a resource indication signal including a resource allocation. The broadcast devices respectively broadcasts an information message to at least one listening device according to the resource allocation acquired from listening to the resource indication signal, and the at least one listening device listens to one of the information messages having a category of interest according to the resource allocation acquired from listening to the resource indication signal.

Method and apparatus for broadcast assistance in direct communication system

The present disclosure proposes a method and apparatuses for geographical zone based radio resource management. The geographical zone based radio resource management method adapted for a control node would receive from a user equipment a request to communicate in a Device to Device (D2D) mode of communication. The control node would validate the user equipment according to a geographical zone in which the user equipment is located in response to the request of the user equipment to communicate in the D2D mode, wherein the geographical zone is formed by at least three control nodes. The control node would then notify the user equipment whether the user equipment may communicate in the D2D mode after the user equipment is authorized.

Methods and devices for communication in a wireless network are provided. One or more discovery devices transmits a request message for information to one or more target devices and receives an information related to the one or more target devices, so as to establish a communication link between at least a pair of discovery devices and target devices. A discovery period can be designated by the wireless network, and the discovery device can transmit to a server the request message and an information related to the one or more discovery devices prior to the discovery period. The target device can also transmit to the server the information related to the target device prior to the discovery period.

Method and device for proximity-based communication

A method for a base station to allocate resources to a mobile station, the resources being included in one or more subbands each including a plurality of resource units, the method including: allocating a part of a first one of the subbands to the mobile station, the part including one or more resource units in the first one of the subbands; and indicating to the mobile station the allocated part of the first one of the subbands by indicating a resource allocation pattern corresponding to the allocated part of the first one of the subbands.

Apparatus and method for resource allocation in wireless communications

The present disclosure provides a device to device (D2D) synchronization method that is applicable to a user equipment and a user equipment (UE) using the same method. In one of the exemplary embodiments, the D2D synchronization method includes receiving detected signals from a receiver, obtaining from the detected signals a first signal having a first timing information and a second signal having a second timing information, determining whether to forward the first timing information or the second timing information based on an upper bound power restriction of the first signal and the second signal and a power difference between the first signal and the second signal, and determining whether to transmit a third timing information that is inherent of the UE based on whether the first signal and the second signal are below power thresholds.

Device to device synchronization method applicable to user equipment and user equipment using the same

A direct communication method, a direct communication device, and a coordinator device using the same method are provided. The direct communication method may be adapted for direct communications between devices with multiple priorities/power upper bounds/ranges. Multiple contention/transmission slots with different power upper bounds or priorities are used as a configuration to allocate resource for the direct communication. The associated configuration acquisition is also disclosed. The direct communication method may also adopt relative periodicity of occurrence of the contention/transmission slots, and may adaptively vary the relative periodicity. The direct communication method may include an associated monitor scheme for spectrum regulation.

Direct communication method and direct communication device and coordinator device using the same

Apparatuses and methods are provided for co-existence between different first and second radio access technologies (RATs). The apparatus is configured or caused to perform operations, which the method may include. The operations may include selecting parameter(s) of a frame structure of the first RAT so as to facilitate its co-existence with the second RAT. These parameters may include a given length of a cyclic prefix of subframe(s) of the first frame structure, or the types of subframes of which the first frame structure is composed. The operations may additionally or alternatively include selecting, for the first RAT, the uplink and/or downlink duration(s) and/or transmit transition gap therebetween so as to satisfy a number of conditions that may define co-existence between the first and second RATs. Further, the operations may additionally or alternatively include structuring cyclic prefixes of the frame structures of the first RAT to reduce network search complexity.

Apparatus and method for co-existence between different radio access technologies

A wireless communications device with a wireless module and a controller module is provided. The wireless module performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network comprising at least two first home base stations having the same physical cell identity (PCI) or physical scrambling code (PSC), a plurality of second home base stations neighboring the first home base stations, and a macro base station. The controller module receives a message from the macro base station via the wireless module, requests the wireless module to detect a plurality of PCIs or PSCs respectively corresponding to the first home base stations and the second home base stations in response to the message, and transmits to the macro base station via the wireless module the detected PCIs or PSCs, prior to being handed over to the one of the first home base stations from the macro base station.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for inbound handover enhancement

The invention provides a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the wireless communication system comprises a base station and user equipment. The base station transmits data to user equipment via a plurality of the component carriers comprising a series of data transmission cycles, interleaves starting time of a plurality of active periods of the component carriers in each data transmission cycle in an order, and sends control data to the user equipment via the component carriers during the active periods of the component carriers. The user equipment receives the control data via the component carriers during the active periods of the component carriers.

A method for reference signal pattern allocation for a eNodeB in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises allocating a plurality of physical resource blocks (PRBs) to at least one mobile device; and mapping a plurality of reference signal patterns to the PRBs according to a mapping rule.

Method for reference signal pattern allocation and related communication device

A high performance real-time turbo code system is proposed. The proposed system exploits cooperative coding architecture and a proper decoding scheduling to achieve low error rate within a constrained latency. Permutation schemes and hardware embodiments utilizing the cooperative coding are also shown. Various memory saving techniques are provided to reduce memory usage in both encoder and decoder. The proposed system is compatible with 3generation mobile standards and cost of designing new parts exclusively for the proposed system can be minimized. This invention can provide substantial coding and system capacity gains for real-time applications in a wireless environment.
