A valve trim assembly configured to be disposed in a fluid flow control valve, including, a valve seat adapted to be disposed in a fluid passageway of the fluid flow control valve. The valve seat includes an annular flange and a seating surface spaced from the annular flange. The valve trim assembly additionally includes a fluid control member movable relative to the valve seat to control fluid flow through the fluid passageway, wherein the fluid control member is movable from a closed position, in which the fluid control member sealingly engages the seating surface of the valve seat, and an open position, in which the fluid control member is spaced from the seating surface, by moving the fluid control member away from the annular flange of the valve seat.

A fluid flow control device includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid flow path extending therebetween, a valve seat ring coupled to the body that defines an orifice through which the fluid flow path passes, a cage coupled to the body that defines an interior bore, a control element slidably disposed within the interior bore of the cage, and a particle catcher at least partially disposed within an interior bore of the control element. The particle catcher includes a particle catcher body that defines an inner flow path and at least one particle catcher passage through which the fluid flow path passes. An outer surface of the particle catcher and an inner surface of the control element form a particle catching portion. The at least one particle catcher passage directs the fluid flow path downwardly into the particle catching portion.

A pressure regulator includes a valve body having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet connected by a fluid passageway. An orifice is disposed between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. A valve seat is disposed within the fluid passageway. A movable valve plug is disposed within the fluid passageway, and the valve plug interacts with the valve seat to selectively open or close the fluid passageway. A cage is disposed in the fluid passageway, the cage surrounds the valve plug, and the cage includes a mechanical stop that limits movement of the valve plug within the cage away from the valve seat.

A multi-cone, multi-stage spray nozzle includes a nozzle body, a valve stem with a first valve head, and a second valve head attached to the first valve head. The first valve stem is biased into a closed position against a valve seat of the nozzle body by a bias device. The second valve head is continuously open. Upon the application of a first fluid pressure, which is less than a threshold fluid pressure, the bias device maintains the valve stem in the closed position while the second valve head is continuously open. And upon the application of a second fluid pressure, which is at least as great as the threshold fluid pressure, the valve stem moves to an open position while the second valve head remains continuously open.

Multi-cone, multi-stage spray nozzle

A multi-cone, multi-stage spray nozzle includes a nozzle body and outer and inner valve stems. The nozzle body defines an outer valve seat disposed at its distal end. The outer valve stem is slidably disposed in the nozzle body. The inner valve stem is slidably disposed in the outer valve stem. The inner valve stem occupies an open position and the outer valve stem occupies a closed position upon the application of a first pressure on the distal ends of the inner and outer valve stems. And, the inner and outer valve stems both occupy open positions upon the application of a second pressure that is greater than the first pressure on the distal ends of the inner and outer valve stems.

An assembly is provided for performing start-up testing on a fluid flow control device. The assembly includes a retainer adapted to be disposed in a valve body of the fluid flow control device, and a sealing assembly coupled to a portion of the retainer and adapted to be disposed adjacent a valve seat of the fluid flow control device. The sealing assembly includes one or more sealing elements configured to provide a seal during start-up testing at a service temperature of between approximately &#x2212;325 degrees Fahrenheit and approximately 1250 degrees Fahrenheit.

A valve seat apparatus for use with fluid valves is described. An example disclosed valve seat apparatus includes a seat ring having an outer surface that includes a first annular recess at a first end of the seat ring, where the first annular recess is to receive a portion of a cage, a second annular recess proximate a second end of the seat ring opposite the first end, and where the second annular recess defines a groove in the outer surface of the seat ring, and a third annular recess adjacent the second annular recess. The example disclosed valve seat apparatus also includes a first seal assembly disposed in the third annular recess and a retainer disposed in the second annular recess to retain the seal assembly in the third annular recess.

A valve seat apparatus for use with fluid valves is described. An example valve seat apparatus includes a seat ring having an outer surface that includes a first annular recess and a second annular recess adjacent the first annular recess to form a stepped profile. A seal assembly is disposed within the first groove and a retainer is disposed in the second annular recess to retain the seal assembly in the first annular recess of the seat ring.
