In one embodiment, example systems and methods related to a manner of optimizing LiDAR sensor placement on autonomous vehicles are provided. A range-of-interest is defined for the autonomous vehicle that includes the distances from which the autonomous vehicle is interested in collecting sensor data. The range-of-interest is segmented into multiple cubes of the same size. For each LiDAR sensor, a shape is determined based on information such as the number of lasers in each LiDAR sensor and the angle associated with each laser. An optimization problem is solved using the determined shape for each LiDAR sensor and the cubes of the range-of-interest to determine the locations to place each LiDAR sensor to maximize the number of cubes that are captured. The optimization problem may further determine the optimal pitch angle and roll angle to use for each LiDAR sensor to maximize the number of cubes that are captured.

System and method for determining optimal lidar placement on autonomous vehicles

In one embodiment, a computing system of a vehicle may receive vehicle driving data associated with a vehicle driving in an environment and detected environment data associated with the environment. The system may generate a reference trajectory of the vehicle driving in the environment based on the vehicle driving data. The system may determine driving constraints associated with the environment based on the detected environmental data. The system may generate a trajectory of the vehicle based on the driving constraints. The system may determine a difference in at least one parameter associated with the trajectory relative to at least one corresponding parameter associated with the reference trajectory. The system may adjust weight values associated with cost functions of the trajectory based on the difference between the at least one parameter associated with the trajectory and the corresponding parameter associated with the reference trajectory.

Systems and methods for optimizing trajectory planner based on human driving behaviors

This invention features a modular composite cabinet system for facilitating multiple configurations of a variety of interconnecting modules. The system has one or more cabinet modules with one or more composite panels. The exterior surface has one or more pre-cut elongated slots with a depth equal to a thickness of a layer. A first cabinet module attaches to a second cabinet module using one or more attaching screws driven into an interior surface, exiting through a pre-cut elongated slot on the exterior surface, further driven through a second pre-cut elongated slot on the second cabinet module, into, then lodging into the substrate. A method to draw the thermal energy from essentially limitless heat sources, such as the ocean or the atmosphere and limited heat sources such as the combustion of fossil fuels, is provided for the production of mechanical work. The fluid from the heat sources gives heat to the working medium of the prime mover of the power plant through a first heat exchanger. The effluent cooled fluid from the first heat exchanger is used for removing the exhaust heat from the prime mover through a second heat exchanger either directly or indirectly through a heat pump and can also be used for the conversion of saline water into fresh water.

Limitless and limited heat sources power plants

A thermal power plant having multi-staged steam turbines and heat exchangers therebetween, each heat exchanger extracting heat from the supply to an upstream stage for adding heat to the supply of the next successive downstream stage; a portion of the supply to the last downstream stage being diverted through a heater for adding heat to the feedwater flow to a boiler. Additional heat exchangers may be provided between stages for utilizing the feedwater to cool the working steam. One form of heat exchanger is provided with a plurality of axially spaced annular chambers having vortex flow producing means adjacent the inner peripheries thereof; whereas another form of heat exchanger is provided with a helically finned interior chamber in fluid communication with upstream guide vanes for inducing vortex flow.
