The present invention relates to, in general, a disposable electrically insulating substrate surface comprising a platinum hydrogen reference electrode system structure, the use of such a substrate in a flow-through electrochemical cell assembly and methods of manufacturing said substrate. For example, in some embodiments, a disposable electrically insulating substrate surface comprising a platinum hydrogen reference electrode system structure, wherein the platinum hydrogen reference electrode system comprises an electrically conductive and electrochemically active platinum hydrogen reference electrode system region bound as a layer, directly or indirectly, to said substrate surface.

A novel analytical system and method to analyze complex carbohydrates such as human milk oligosaccharides by low-temperature High-Performance Anion Exchange Chromatography with Pulsed Amperometric Detection and High-resolution Mass Spectrometry (HPAE-PAD-MS). The analytical system controls the temperature of the column, electrochemical detector, and ion removal device at or below 15° C. The HPAE-PAD workflow with high-resolution mass spectrometry provides useful molecular structure information. It facilitates the detection of milk oligosaccharides, particularly unknown structures, without the use of analytical standards.

A model management system adaptively refines a training dataset for more effective visual inspection. The system trains a machine learning model using the initial training dataset and sends the trained model to a client for deployment. The deployment process generates outputs that are sent back to the system. The system determines that performance of predictions for noisy data points are inadequate and determines a cause of failure based on a mapping of the noisy data point to a distribution generated for the training dataset across multiple dimensions. The system determines a cause of failure based on an attribute of the noisy datapoint that deviates from the distribution of the training dataset and performs refinement towards the training dataset based on the identified cause of failure. The system retrains the machine learning model with the refined training dataset and sends the retrained machine learning model back to the client for re-deployment.

Systems and methods for inhibiting translocation of ions across ion exchange barriers include an eluent generator having an ion source reservoir with a first electrode, an eluent generation chamber with a second electrode, an ion exchange barrier disposed therebetween, and means for reversing the polarity of a voltage or current applied across the first and second electrodes. A first polarity voltage or current applied across the electrodes generates an electric field that promotes translocation of eluent counter ions from the reservoir across the barrier, where the counter ions combine with eluent ions electrolytically generated in the chamber. By reversing the polarity of the voltage or current across the electrodes, the resulting electric field inhibits translocation of counter ions across the barrier from the reservoir into the chamber. Reverse voltage or current bias reduces counter ion concentration in the resting chamber to prevent exhaustion of ion suppressor capacity during start up.

In some examples, a primary AP may comprise a processing resource and a memory resource storing machine readable instructions to determine, in response to receiving a data transmission from a secondary AP, whether an image version of the secondary AP and a class of the secondary AP are a same image version and class as the primary AP, determine whether the class of the secondary AP is a same class as a seed AP, and instruct the secondary AP, in response to the seed AP being the same class as the secondary AP, to upgrade the image version of the secondary AP from the seed AP.

An embodiment of a storage medium includes instructions for discovering a network topology for a network branch, the network branch including multiple access points including a first access point, the first access point having an interface to a network, the discovery of the network topology including identifying any access point that is linked to the first access point directly or via one or more intermediary access points; discovering one or more host devices that are connected by wireless or wired connections to one or more access points in the network branch; and generating a firewall coordination plan for the network branch based on the discovered network topology and the discovered one or more hosts, the firewall coordination plan including applying a firewall process for an access point to which a first host device is attached and bypassing one or more other firewall processes.

Techniques are provided for using machine learning techniques to identify predictive features and predictive values for each feature. In one technique, a model is trained based on training data that comprises training instances, each of which corresponds to multiple usage-based features of an online service by a user. For each usage-based feature in a subset of the usage-based features, the model is used to generate a dependency graph, a histogram is generated, and an optimized value is selected based on the dependency graph and the histogram. A user of the online service is identified, along with a usage value that indicates a level of usage, by the user, of a usage-based feature. A comparison between the usage value and an optimized value of the usage-based feature is performed. Based on the comparison, it is determined whether to present data about that usage-based feature to the user.
