A backlight module includes a bottom plate, a light guide and a light source assembly. The bottom plate has a first loading surface and a recess adjacent to each other. The recess has a second loading surface and a reflective surface inclined to the first and second loading surfaces. The light guide has a light inputting surface and a light outputting surface. The light guide is disposed on the first loading surface and covers the reflective surface. The light outputting surface faces away from the bottom plate. The light source assembly has a light emitting surface and disposed on the second loading surface. The light emitting surface faces the light inputting surface and the reflective surface, and comprises a side edge away from the second loading surface. The light source assembly is disposed inside the recess so the side edge is not higher than the light outputting surface.

Backlight module

A light guide module includes a light guide plate and a gradient index lens. The light guide plate has a light output surface and a light incident surface. The light incident surface is connected to the light output surface. The gradient index lens has a first surface, a second surface and a third surface. The first surface and the second surface are connected to the third surface. The first surface of the gradient index lens is attached to the light output surface. Multiple internal refractive indexes of the gradient index lens are increased gradually from the first surface to the second surface. A minimum refractive index of the multiple internal refractive indexes is less than a refractive index of the light guide plate. The incident light is refracted multiple times within the gradient index lens, and totally reflected back to the light guide plate.

An optical film includes a substrate, several prism bars, and several connecting parts. The substrate comprises a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The prism bars are disposed on the second surface of the substrate. Each prism bar has a bottom portion and a top portion. The bottom portion of each prism bar is disposed on the second surface of the substrate, and each top portion has an edge. Each connecting part includes a flexible pillar and a connecting enlarged part. Each flexible pillar has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end. The first end of each flexible pillar is disposed on one of the edges. Each connecting enlarged part is disposed on the second end of each flexible pillar. The outer width of each connecting enlarged part is larger than that of the cross-section of each flexible pillar.

Optical flim, optical film assembly using the optical film, and manufacturing method of the optical film

A light guide plate including a plate body and a plurality of microstructures formed thereon is provided. The plate body has a light entrance surface, a light exit surface orthogonal to the light entrance surface, and at least one side surface neighboring the light exit surface and the light entrance surface. At least one light source is disposed near the light entrance surface, such that light generated by the light source enters the plate body through the light entrance surface and exits from the plate body through the light exit surface. The microstructures are arranged on the light entrance surface and the at least one side surface, and the microstructures on the light entrance surface are convex-shaped and the microstructures on the at least one side surface are concave-shaped.
