Method of producing pyrolysis products from a mixed plastics stream along with an associated system for processing mixed plastics. The method includes conducting pyrolysis of a plastic feedstock to produce a stream of plastic pyrolysis oil; feeding the plastic pyrolysis oil to an aromatization unit having an aromatization reactor with an aromatization catalyst disposed therein to generate an aromatics rich stream; and passing the aromatics rich stream to an aromatic recovery complex to separate the aromatics rich stream into a BTX fraction, a gasoline blending fraction, a gas fraction comprising hydrogen and C1-C4 hydrocarbons, and an aromatic bottoms fraction comprising hydrocarbons boiling above 180° C., where the BTX fraction consists of benzene, toluene and mixed xylenes and the gasoline blending fraction comprises aliphatic hydrocarbons with a boiling range from C5 hydrocarbon up to the aromatic bottoms fraction.

Method of producing plastic pyrolysis products from a mixed plastics stream

According to embodiments, a process of forming a catalyst for aromatizing hydrocarbons may include enhancing a mesoporosity of a zeolite support by a base-leaching treatment, an acid-leaching treatment, or both to form a zeolite support having enhanced mesoporosity, mixing the zeolite support having enhanced mesoporosity with a solution containing zinc or gallium to disperse the zinc or gallium on the zeolite support having enhanced mesoporosity, and calcining the zeolite support having enhanced mesoporosity with zinc or gallium dispersed thereon to form a zinc- or gallium-doped zeolite catalyst having a mesopore volume of greater than 0.09 cm/g and less than 0.20 cm/g.

A fluid catalytic cracking catalyst composition (FCC catalyst composition) includes an FCC catalyst and from 1 wt.% to 30 wt.% aromatization-promoting FCC additive. The FCC catalyst includes a USY zeolite, and the aromatization-promoting FCC additive is an MFI zeolite modified with an aromatization compound. The aromatization compound is a metal or metal oxide that includes a metal element from periods 4-6 of the IUPAC periodic table. A method for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with the FCC catalyst composition at reaction conditions sufficient to upgrade at least a portion of the hydrocarbon feed.

Fluidized catalytic cracking processes and additives for improving gasoline yield and quality

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to processes for aromatizing hydrocarbons includes contacting the hydrocarbons with a catalyst including at least two different metal modifiers dispersed on surfaces of a hydrogen-form medium-pore zeolite support. Each of the at least two different metal modifiers comprises a metal selected from the group consisting of IUPAC Groups 3-12, and lanthanide metals, and the catalyst is substantially free of gallium. Contacting the hydrocarbons with the catalyst causes a least a portion of the hydrocarbons to undergo a chemical reaction to form aromatic hydrocarbons.

Aromatization of light hydrocarbons using metal-modified zeolite catalysts

A catalytic composition is disclosed, which exhibits an X-ray amorphous oxide with a spinel formula, and crystals of ZnO, CuO, and at least one Group VIB metal oxide, and preferably, at least one acidic oxide of B, P. or Si, as well. The composition is useful in oxidative processes for removing sulfur from gaseous hydrocarbons.

Methods for gas phase oxidative desulphurization of hydrocarbons using CuZnAl catalysts promoted with group VIB metals

According to one or more embodiments described herein, a method for cracking a hydrocarbon oil may include contacting the hydrocarbon oil with a fluidized cracking catalyst including an ultra-stable Y-type zeolite in a fluidized catalytic cracking unit to produce light olefins, gasoline fuel, and coke. At least 99 wt. % of the hydrocarbon oil may have a boiling point greater than 350&#xb0; C. The ultra-stable Y-type zeolite may be a framework-substituted zeolite in which a part of aluminum atoms constituting a zeolite framework thereof is substituted with 0.1-5 mass % zirconium atoms and 0.1-5 mass % titanium ions on an oxide basis. The fluidized cracking catalyst may include from 3.5 wt. % to 10 wt. % of one or more Group 7 metal oxides.

Methods and catalysts for cracking hydrocarbon oil

An integrated process for conversion of a hydrocarbon stream comprising at least 60% by weight C5-C6 normal paraffins and iso-paraffins to enhanced value aromatics. The process includes passing the hydrocarbon stream through the first reactor, the first reactor being an aromatization reactor with an aromatization catalyst disposed therein to generate an aromatization product stream. The process further includes passing the aromatization product stream through a separator configured to remove C1-C4 gases to generate an aromatic rich stream. The process finally includes passing the aromatic rich stream combined with a reformate effluent fraction from a catalytic reforming unit to an aromatic recovery complex to separate the aromatic rich stream into a benzene fraction, a toluene fraction, a para-xylene fraction, an aromatic bottoms fraction comprising C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons, and a non-aromatics fraction. An associated system for performing the process is also provided.

Conversion of light naphtha to enhanced value aromatics in an integrated reactor process

According to embodiments, a process for aromatizing hydrocarbons may include contacting the hydrocarbons with a zinc- or gallium-doped ZSM-5 catalyst having a mesopore volume of greater than 0.09 cm/g. Contacting the hydrocarbons with the catalyst causes a least a portion of the hydrocarbons to undergo chemical reactions to form aromatic hydrocarbons.

Aromatization of light hydrocarbons using metal-doped zeolite catalysts with enhanced mesoporosity

A fluid catalytic cracking catalyst composition (FCC catalyst composition) includes a framework-substituted ultra-stable Y-type zeolite (USY zeolite) having one or more transition metals substituted into the framework of a USY zeolite and a FCC zeolite cracking additive. A method for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with the FCC catalyst composition of the present disclosure at reaction conditions sufficient to upgrade at least a portion of the hydrocarbon feed. A method for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes passing the hydrocarbon feed to a fluid catalytic cracking unit, contacting the hydrocarbon feed with a FCC catalyst composition in the fluid catalytic cracking unit under reaction conditions sufficient to cause at least a portion of the hydrocarbon feed to undergo cracking reactions to produce a cracking reaction mixture comprising a used FCC catalyst composition and a cracked effluent comprising one or more olefins.

FCC catalyst compositions for fluid catalytic cracking and methods of using the FCC catalyst compositions

Processes for aromatizing hydrocarbons include contacting the hydrocarbons with a catalyst composition comprising a metal oxide dispersed on a surface of a zeolite support, where contacting the hydrocarbons with the catalyst composition causes at least a portion of the hydrocarbons to undergo a chemical reaction to form aromatic hydrocarbons. The catalyst composition is prepared by a synthesis process that includes combining the zeolite support with a hydrocarbon solvent to form a zeolite mixture, where the hydrocarbon solvent pre-wets the pores of the zeolite support. The synthesis process further includes combining a polar solvent comprising a metal salt with the zeolite mixture to form an impregnated zeolite support. The synthesis process also includes drying the impregnated zeolite support and calcining the impregnated zeolite support to convert the metal salt to the metal oxide, thereby forming the catalyst composition.

Catalyst compositions for aromatizing hydrocarbons and processes for producing aromatic compounds using the catalyst compositions
