The present invention provides a method and system of material identification using binocular steroscopic and multi-energy transmission image. With the method, any obstacle that dominates the ray absorption can be peeled off from the objects that overlap in the direction of a ray beam. The object that is unobvious due to a relatively small amount of ray absorption will thus stand out, and the material property of the object, such as organic, mixture, metal and the like can be identified. This method lays a fundament for automatic identification of harmful objects, such as explosive, drugs, etc., concealed in a freight container.

Method and system of material identification using binocular steroscopic and multi-energy transmission images

A radiation inspection system is disclosed. The radiation inspection system comprises: an inspection passage through which a moving object under inspection can pass, a radiation source disposed on a side of the inspection passage for emitting radiation, an array of detectors disposed on the other side of the inspection passage opposite to the radiation source for receiving the radiation emitted from the radiation source, a detector for detecting the moving object, and a controller for receiving a signal from the detector and controlling the radiation source to emit radiation when the detector detects the moving object for radiation imaging and inspection of the moving object. According to the radiation inspection system, the controller can control the radiation source to automatically emit radiation beam based on the detection signal from the detector for inspecting the moving object. As a result, inspection efficiency is improved, safety is increased, and misoperation of the radiation source is eliminated.

Disclosed is a method for identifying a moving object, comprising: a driving-in step of moving a moving object into a passage, a velocity measuring step of measuring a moving velocity of the moving object, a light beam emitting step of emitting light beams from one side of the passage, a light beam receiving step of receiving the light beams not shielded by the moving object at other side of the passage, a profile determining step of determining a profile of at least one portion of the moving object based on the received light beams and the measured moving velocity of the moving object, and an identifying step of determining type of the moving object by comprising the profile of the at least one portion of the moving object with information of moving objects stored previously. The method and the system according to the present invention can adopt corresponding scanning controlling manners for different vehicles, so that inspection information of inspected vehicles is complete, inspection images are of high quality, and radiation dose received by drivers are minimal.

The invention provides a multichannel analyzer for use in a multichannel spectrometer, which comprises a standard spectrum calibrator for obtaining energy calibration parameters of said multichannel spectrometer; an environment background spectrum calibrator for obtaining parameters of a current and a previous environment background spectrum; a peak shift detector for analyzing the parameters of the current and previous environment background spectrum to determine whether a peak shift occurs between them and to determine a correction coefficient of the peak shift; and a parameter corrector for correcting the energy calibration parameters of said multichannel spectrometer using said peak shift correction coefficient. The invention also provides a method for correcting a peak shift of a multichannel spectrometer adapted in the multichannel analyzer. The method for correcting and the multichannel analyzer can correct and monitor the peak shift of the multichannel spectrometer in real time.

The present invention discloses a system for imaging inspection of a movable object is provided, comprising: a first detecting unit configured to inspect whether a moving object to be inspected moves into a passage or not; a second detecting unit for inspecting whether a part to be shielded of the moving object passes into the passage or not and generating a passing signal after the first detecting unit inspects that the moving object to be inspected moves into the passage; a scan imaging device for emitting radiating beams for scan inspecting the moving object to be inspected; and a control system for generating a control signal for controlling the emitted radiating beams from the scan imaging device according to the passing signal from the second detecting unit. With the above system thereof, the imaging inspection of the moving object with rapid speed can be undertaken safely and reliably.

The present invention discloses a method for inspecting an object using multi-energy radiations and an apparatus thereof. The method comprises the steps of: causing multi-energy radiations to interact with an object under inspection; detecting and recording detection values after an interaction between the multi-energy radiations and the object under inspection; substituting a portion of the detection values into a predetermined calibration function to obtain information comprising primary material attribute; and determining further material attributes of the object by applying a set of functions suitable for a energy band corresponding to the information. The present invention is applicable to the large container cargo inspection without opening containers at customs, ports and airports.

Method for inspecting object using multi-energy radiations and apparatus thereof

In a binocular steroscopic scanning radiographic imaging method, X-rays emitted by the same radiation source are used. The X-rays pass through a double-slit collimator to form two X-ray beam sectors, which are symmetric or asymmetric and have an angle between them. The X-ray beam sectors, after penetrating through an object under detection, are received by the left and right detector array, respectively, then converted into electric signals to be inputted to the respective image acquisition systems, and received by a computer processing system for image processing and displaying. A system corresponding to the method comprises a radiation source, a beam controller, two mutually connected arms of detector arrays, image acquisition systems connected respectively to each of the detector arrays and a computer processing system. The present invention can display the transmission images detected by each of the detector arrays as well as tomograms with different depth reconstructed from the transmission images according to the principle of parallax. The present invention is convenient, fast in detection and realizes with low cost the recognition of objects of different depths.

Method and system for binocular steroscopic scanning radiographic imaging

An apparatus for quick imaging and inspecting a moving target, including a passage for the moving target passing therethrough, a scanning and imaging device irradiating a radiation beam to the moving target passing through the passage to form an image thereof for inspection, a first determination unit for determining whether the moving target has entered the passage and for counting the moving target entering the passage, a second determination unit for determining the moving speed of the moving target in the passage; and a control unit for controlling the second determination unit to determine the moving speed of the moving target based on the detection signal from the first determination unit indicating the moving target having entered the passage, and for controlling the scanning and imaging device to irradiate a radiation beam for the inspection of the moving target with a frequency corresponding to the moving speed of the moving target based on the determination result of the second determination unit.

Apparatus and method for quick imaging and inspecting moving target

Disclosed is a method of discriminating materials by employing fast neutron and continuous spectral X-ray and an equipment for the same. The method comprising the steps of: (a) transmitting a fast neutron beam produced by a fast neutron source and a continuous spectral X-ray beam produced by a continuous spectral X-ray source through inspected objects; (b) directly measuring the intensity of the transmitted X-rays and the intensity of the transmitted neutrons by a X-ray detector array and a neutron detector array respectively; and (c) identifying the materials of the inspected object by Z-dependency curves formed by the attenuation differences between the neutron beam and X-ray beam transmitted through different materials of the inspected object. This direct measurement of transmitted dual-ray technique has much more efficient than secondary radiations measurement such as neutron activation analysis, has much more material discrimination sensitivity than dual-energy x-ray technique. The respective measurements of neutrons and x-rays make the usages of high detect efficiency neutron detectors and x-ray detectors possible. The using continuous spectral x-ray produced by Linac adds more advantages such as: high penetration ability, high spatial resolution, and high image quality over monoenergetic dual-ray technique.
